This essay needs to be 6-8 paragraphs in length. I'm going to do an intro, 4 body and a conclusion = 6 paragraphs.
Excellent! Think about it this way: the essay is a collection of 4 ideas, and you put the ideas in a basket. (The intro and conclusion are the basket.) This is useful, because you can just write one paragraph at a time. Just start by writing that paragraph about Mrs. Watson.
Just take that first step. Soon, you will have the 4 paragraphs, and you can frame them (i.e. put them in the basket) by writing an intro and conclusion BASED on those 4 ideas. And you may be a math/science guy, but you write very well... excellent use of commas, excellent clarity.
Try this:
Step one- write a sentence about an example pertaining to Mrs. Watson.
Step two- write another sentence after that first sentence... one that explains what this has to do with the quest for knowledge.
Step three- go back and write a PARAGRAPH TOPIC SENTENCE in front of the sentence you wrote for step one. (i.e. give the main idea of the paragraph).
Step four- write a conclusion sentence for the paragraph.
The idea is to just start with a simple sentence about something that happens in the story. You can choose almost anything! Every detail of the story is related to the main themes, so... you really just need to take the first step.
This essay consists of only 4 ideas... 4 paragraph topic sentences.
Write the intro and conclusion last.
I hope that helps!!!
