I need to know a good thesis for the count of monte cristo novel by alexander dumas.
I need 3 topics in it. I am writing an essay after that.
I would like to do it on Edmond Dantes becoming/ "transforming" into The Count of Monte Cristo.

Thankssss.

Well, what stages does Dantes go through in his transformation? If you can think of at least three of them, that would give you your three topic thesis. Good luck.

Great idea. You can also look at three aspects of his personality.

Or, if he changes motives as time progresses, or outlooks, etc., you can pick three of them. Really, you have a fair number of options open to you.

Count of Monte Cristo Thesis =)

So need to write an essay on the Count of Monte Cristo, and I am struggling to write a meaningful thesis. It can't be a crappy thesis like, The Count of Monte Cristo focus on revenge. It has to be an observation from the book. And I would need 3 paragraph to support it. Plz help me =) Thanks

Well, first of all, just plain "revenge' is not a thesis. It is a topic, an idea. It's perfectly okay to use revenge as the topic, but for the thesis, saying something about revenge. Make a general statement relating us people and revenge, and find evidence from the story.

MY THESIS STATEMENT: In order for an essay to be strong, its thesis statement should meet the requirements that teachers usually associate with the idea of a strong thesis statement.

In my post above, I demonstrated a "statement of the obvious."
If your aunt and uncle are having a conversation about a war, you can say anything you want to say about the war to contribute to the discussion, but you would probably not say something that you know they already know.

Nobody does that in real life, but in essays writers often do make this mistake: We state the obvious.

So the way to write a good thesis statement involves saying something that is not obvious.

Take a stand on something that others may disagree about.

In the Count of Monte Cristo, the hero should actually be thought of as a villain.

If some people disagree, it is probably a good thesis. Don't take my idea, though! Just skim through the book and wait until a controversial idea comes to mind.

I have to ask the question: did you read the book? If not, then there are other alternatives, such as looking for a synopsis of the book on the Internet, by using Google. I've done it before and there are a number of companies that offer such material(s) on the net.

Is there a specific chapter that you like the best? Is there a specific character besides Cristo, that, perhaps, he comes into contact with -- and one with whom you can draw a thesis statement?

From this information, as well as what the others (above) have offered to you in terms of instruction, see if you can come up with a thesis statement of your own, and then we can go from there.

Thanks,

Mark :)
