ichid99 9 / 10 Jan 4, 2009 #1What is the format for common app essays? Is it double space, 12 font times new roman?
OP ichid99 9 / 10 Jan 4, 2009 #3Thanks. I just wasn't sure because for my other school application there was a given format for the essays.
EF_Constance - / 143 Jan 5, 2009 #4I would use double-spaced, 1" margins, 12 sized font, and Times New Roman because that is most likely what your professors will request.
Lydmeister 6 / 17 Nov 4, 2013 #6Questions about formatting your essay on the Common Application. So I have a vague understanding of how to work (the incredibly cumbersome) common app essay section, but I don't really know what is standard. Obviously, indenting isn't an option but what is the standard from breaking up paragraphs? Should I add an extra line of space between paragraphs? Also should my title in bold? I'm kind of hard-wired into MLA formatting and this is driving me a little bit crazy!
ving96 2 / 3 1 Nov 4, 2013 #7Personally, the school I'm applying to specified that improper formatting will not be taken into account in the Common App essay. I tried indenting mine and it didn't work on the personal essay, but it did for my supplements. I'm just leaving it.
misstota - / 3 Nov 7, 2013 #8you should not add double spacing to your essay.only separate the paragraphshelp with mine :)
