What is the perfect length of a personal statmenet?
I am wondering if mine will be too long :(
I would say a page is good. should be no more than two pages.
a page with single spaced ?
Usually it is double spaced, 12 font Times New Roman and normal margins ( 1 in from top, bottom, left, and right). I can't tell you for sure how long your personal essay should be. Usually it is specified in the application. One of my essay required a max of 300 words, which is a page and a few sentences, others were from 500-1000 words.
I think best approach would be to tell your story no matter how long it is. ...once you have it written. then you can eliminate minor details
Yeah, just write it, and then edit it for as long as you have before the deadline. Mine started off about three pages, and what I submitted was half the length.
Word-vomit first, then clean it up it later :P

There is no perfect length! It depends on the expectations of the school. Sometimes school policy makers are quirky or eccentric, so they have special expectations and want to see how well you follow their quirky instructions. So... the best way is to contact each school
