My process of learning - how to read and write over the years

i need help with organizing , thesis statement , body.

I am in my first semester of freshman year in writing, at the Community College NC. I am going to tell you about my process of, learning how to read and write over the years. When I was eight years old, in third grade where I had lived in Africa I came to learn how to read and write. At the time it was tough understanding the concept of reading and writing, because it was a language I did not understand. This language was known as English. A couple of years passed, and my family decided to move to the United States. We lived in High Point, North Carolina. In the year 2006. There I stared attending a middle school named Ferndle. I had ESL class, where they gave me picture books with not many words. They gave me different book each day, with each books becoming difficult and challenging each time. On some days in the class, I would have to get in a group of there with two other students. We would communicate with one another, and state if we understood what we read. We also listed words that we did not know meaning to, and wrote there detention looked them up in the dictionaries to help us understand what we read. Writing was still very challenging in middle school. In my language art class, eight grade year. When we had writing assignments or reviews on what we reading and learned from the books. It was tough for me. Coming to high school freshman year, I had English 9 class. We had many writing assignments in preparation for sophomore year writing test. That is when I got the the idea of writing. It was moreunderstanding to read as well. Throughout my high school years. I knew how to read and write, but it still a bit difficult for me.

you don't want to give a chronology description of your life, instead you want to talk about one or two that could be significant in your process of learning, and expand on those.

Avoid writing this way. This is only applicable in speaking, specifically reporting. Think first of a good introduction: 1. it is the first paragraph 2. it should not be lengthy/long 3. it should have thesis statement or main topic. The other one is the body (another paragraph). Here it's time for you to elaborate your topic by presenting general statements with specific details supporting them. It should be longer than your intro, of course. The last paragraph is conclusion( how will you conclude/summarize it?). This is the structure which you don't apply in your posted essay. Follow this first.


At that time it was difficult for me to understand the concept of reading and writing, because of the language used as a means of instruction.
