structure of a process paper?

hey...how do you structure a process paper.? can anyone help me out.?

You'll be describing how to do something in your process paper, so you'll need to be specific in your directions. Start off by saying what process you are describing. For instance, "There are ten steps to building your own outside barbecue." Then say what ingredients or items you'll need to create it. Then proceed through the steps one at a time, using transition words, where appropriate: "After your cement has dried for five hours..." or "while you're waiting for the concoction to set, do this..." Finally, conclude with a remark that reveals the benefits of the process (why do it?): "Light the fire, toss on the ribs and prepare to feast!"

Process essay paragraph, I am struggling with a topic

I have to write a process essay, and I am struggling with a topic. I am not a writer, so this is hard for me. I am taking English Comp 1, it's kicking my butt. Please, do you have any idea's...Thanx!!!

A process essay will tell the reader how to do something, or explain how something is done. Therefore, pick a topic that describes a process with which you are familiar. You can't explain how to bake a loaf of bread if you've never done it! :-)

Think about your interests, hobbies, etc. Do you play the guitar? You could describe how to play chords; do you build model airplanes? know how to grill a great steak? download music online without acquiring too much spyware or breaking any laws? ;-))

I'd suggest making a list of things you know how to do reasonably well, then decide which one would be easiest to describe in a process essay. I'd be glad to help you with editing, once you get started.
