The history of the South cannot be discussed without reference to race relations. From an agricultural economy dependant on slave labor for its success, to an industrialized economy rife with racial tension, the South has been defined by, and transformed by, its views on racial issues.

Thesis Statement:
Stories of the Modern South depict the lives of how Southern Writers profound racism, religion, true identity(beauty), symbolism and cultural aspects in the twentieth century. Opposed to how writers of the twenty first century today view the changes of the defeated South and its lost culture.
Your second sentence is a fragment.
Is Stories of the Modern South an anthology of writing by 20th century southern writers or a work of literary criticism about those writers? If it is the latter, then your first sentence is phrased correctly. If it is the former, then "depicts" should be "demonstrates."
Under no circumstances is your first sentence phrased correctly. The "of how" construction requires another verb at some point, and "profound" isn't one.

Here you just gave the questions. actually the function of this website is you should put your notion into a better paragraph. Then, for a better one you need to make it clear among sentences. By using linking words as well. In this case, for the first paragraph you need to paraphrase the general question into one or two sentences. Furthermore, you can put your idea.
Moving to next paragraph, you have to strict your first idea. moreover, improve your ideas with giving the reason why. For the third sentences, may you need give scientific fact or example like a white police shot an African, then describe it. for the last sentences, give conclusion for your first body paragraph.
commit these steps above until conclusion.
for conclusion, you just need to paraphrase again from your introductory paragraph.
