When I was a middle school student, on-line shopping became popular and my family also became one of the major customers in some web shops. The quick development of online shopping and its fast speed and low cost qualities make me appreciate the web shops. As my father also has successful entrepreneurship experience, he often shares with me about his experience and feelings. In the process of exchanging idea with him, I gradually develop strong interest in business therefore major in E-commerce at college. In the three years' learning xx University, the interest in MIS becomes increasingly strong, so are my understanding and learning attitude towards it.
The learning at college systematizes my knowledge, improves my ability, and enhances my confidence.
Through the learning of Introduction of E-commerce in the first academic year, I realize that E-commerce was definitely not the online shopping that I understand beforehand. It has various connotations and profound meanings which are worthy of my further study. My major courses changes to be more detail in my third year, and I began to understand the roles and duties that the course or technology has played and undertaken in the overall profession. Compared with the preceding study, such learning in my junior year greatly exercised my practical operating ability, as designing the sales management information system of a company which includes systematical research, and feasible analyses, business procedure design, data procedure design, code design and system configuration scheme and so on; applying WITNESS simulating software to design and perfect the steel supply chain made from a auto maker; and implementing JAVA advanced applied technology to design and make online shops. These academic activities and studies could not only consolidate my theoretical knowledge, but also increase my comprehensive abilities such as independent thinking ability, decision making ability, independent researching ability, and innovation. What worth mentioning was the Magical House project scheme, which was undertaken from September, 2011 to October, 2011. Serving as a team leader in the planning team, I led my team finished series procedures, ranging from the topic selection, assignment distribution, and product discussions, analyzing product market analyses with the principles of STP and SWPT, choice of marketing channels, to finial summarization, in good orders. The experience tremendously improved analyzing and decision making ability, so did my leadership and organizing ability. Due to our endeavor, our team Milestone, relying on the project scheme, won the second prize in the Third Session National College Students E-commerce Challenge of Innovation, Creation and Entrepreneurship in October, 2011 in xx Province.
Apart from professional learning, I actively take part in social practices to improve my professional skills and practicability in summer vacation.
From July 22 to August 21, 2011, I had an internship at xx Accounting Agency Co., ltd, where I acted as an assistant to customer service manager and was mainly responsible for assisting customer service specialists to manage and maintain customer data with customer managing system. From July 16 to September 5, 2012, I worked at xx( Group) Co., Ltd, in which I served as an assistant to office director. During this period, apart from applying specialist knowledge to practice, in order to meet demands from work, I taught myself the knowledge from various aspects like from human resources management and training. The work invisibly developed my independent thinking and learning abilities, improved my inter-personal communicating ability and coordinating capability. The practice needed me to constantly retrospect and apply what I had learnt; therefore, I had a clearer idea of my understanding of my current major. At the same time, I also felt that the process of meeting challenges is the process of making progress. So, I am looking forward to meet new challenges in the future.
In terms of extra-curricular activities, since I entered the university, I have been deeply attracted by abundant extra-curricular activities and profound activity atmosphere. Kind of shy at that time and trying to conquer my inner fear, I actively participated in various on-campus and off-campus activities, in which I have achieved many prizes. Of course, when enjoying the interesting experience, I never forget to grasp every possible opportunity to meet challenges and improve myself. As soon as I attended the university, I joined the College Student Science and Technology Innovation Association within the Students' Union. In the second year since I belonged to it, I proposed the unique idea of Applying Brand Effect to Organizing High Quality Activity and was elected to the vice chairman in the association relying on the suggestion. As a result, I became the only one lady who succeeded in the election in the department. When working in College Student Science and Technology Innovation Association, I had been involved in a large amount of activity organizing, planning, and team leading work, which immensely exercised and improved my communicating skills and relevant abilities to a large degree. Frankly speaking, the experience changed my character and life and also altered my views to many issues. That is why I become more optimistic, upward, and full of vitality.
I am very fond of the major of MIS. Based on the learning of E-commence in undergraduate program, I have had an overall and profound understanding of the basic knowledge in the profession. Since I have had strong interest in the field, I find out that my qualities and strength are more than suitable for the profession like my independent thinking ability, analyzing ability, decision making ability and innovation. What is more, the study of the major could make me out of a person who has both business skills and information technology skills so that I could be associated with the work that I like. I will intensify my grasp of professional knowledge in postgraduate program and grasp every opportunity to take part in various social practices so as to increase my knowledge application ability and practicability. Hopefully, I could possess all necessary skills that are needed within in a worker from only learning knowledge from books. Furthermore, I hope I could understand my drawbacks and strength from social practices and continue to bring my talent into full play and make up my drawbacks. Then, I will, according to the learning situation and interest in postgraduate program, choose to work in relevant profession and become an information systems specialist in an enterprise. I will persist in developing myself and finding my strength in work and make higher progress in operation, especially fully taking advantage of my strength.
Seeing from current developing trends, the teaching level and ideas in America are very advanced and the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management within your esteemed university ranks among the top departments in the world, in terms of research productivity, impact and visibility. In addition, your university has abundant teaching resources and excellent professors. Studying at such good atmosphere, I believe I will gain more exercise and good learning opportunity to develop my strength. At the same time, the center at your university deeply appeals to me and is also very perfect, therefore, I will not confine my learning into simple research and could achieve more opportunity to have internships, which will be of great help to my future career. I hope I could be offered an opportunity to fulfill my dreams.
