Appreciate your feedback on below SoP:

Statement of Purpose

I am applying to KFUPM's Master of Engineering Program in sustainable and renewable energy in pursuit of a career in leading sustainable and renewable energy businesses. Exploring the opportunities that influence the sector growth plans through the principle of suitability.

I am motivated to complete my graduate studies while I'm gaining my professional experience in the field. Being exposed to a wide range of new ideas considered to be valuable for my future career path.

I earned my BSc degree in Applied Mechanical Engineering from KFUPM. This program gave me a foundation and the knowledge in Analysis and Design. My journey to the professional life started in June 2011 in General Electric. During my career with GE, I led several key power generation projects in the kingdom as a Mechanical Field Engineer specializing in Gas Turbine installation and maintenance. Currently, I hold the position of Sales Director for the Aviation sector in General Electric.

My Goals have been to advance my career and build a better future using the tools that the program will offer. Throughout my life I have developed skills in mathematics, physics, and business leadership that will help me achieve success in this program. As an engineer, I am committed to ensuring efficiency and quality while minimizing waste.

At this juncture of my career, I feel that my educational and professional qualification coupled with the opportunities arising have reinforced my goals and have developed a keen desire in me to pursue my master's degree at your university, this will surely equip me with comprehensive and specialized skills as an outcome of rigorous training in all aspects of sustainable and renewable energy.

Upon the completion of the program, I will have the chance to learn about most recent renewable energy techniques. That will put me on the right track to participate actively in the development of this field in the kingdom.

I hope that the admissions committee finds my background and strengths commensurate with the requirements of KFUPM's Master of Engineering Program in sustainable and renewable energy as the program is integral part of my goals.

The writer has provided a motivational letter rather than a statement of purpose. These 2 are often interchanged by the applicants due to some similar content but differing discussion focus. The presentation is too brief and does not offer enough qualifiers for applicant consideration.

The educational background must include examples of the academic success of the student. Academic accolades along with evidence of relevant course completions that relate to the masters course can help convince the reviewer that the person has a relevant academic foundation that will help him complete the course.

Explaining how a professional background in sales relates to this masters course is a must. Based upon what I have read, there appears to be a disconnection between the current profession and the masters degree. Proving a corelation should resolve that.

The projected career path must be better presented. An overview will not suffice in this case as a statement of purpose must clearly explain how the student sees the studies will result in eventual career progression. Focusing on relevant current career experiences is a must to achieve this. How does one plan to get from point A to point E based upon the understanding of the course applicability ? A more thorough statement must be developed to present a stronger purpose.
