How to avoid in writing in the passive tone

Can u plz gimme some tips from avoiding the passive tone as i have been criticized a lot from doing that and i really need to improve on my essay writing skills.

Good morning.

In regards to the passive tone, the biggest "key" to remember is, "Don't tell your readers what you want to tell them, just TELL them."

For instance:
"I'd like to thank the parents for..."
Is passive. It should be:

"Thank you to the parents for..."

Or:
"I would just like to say that so-and-so is a remarkable author..."
Should be:
"So-and-so is a ramarkable author..."

An active tone is just that: active. It takes part and takes a stance in your writing and speaking. Don't "want" or "like" to do or say something, just do it! :)
