mozzoloco 3 / 7 Jan 12, 2011 #1Hi there.English is not my 1st language-I don't speak in English daily. So,sometimes I might pick up the wrong expression when I'm writing.Sometimes the words come from movies and television.I am having trouble to set the degree of formality that I need to use in my essays.I am applying for Penn State University and try to describe myself as student.Hope you guys can help and it's very very much appreciated! :)Is it okay to say 'I am a fairly bright student'?Fairly means naaah just okay.but the bright means I'm such a brilliant student.I'm pairing the wrong words together am I??I am a bright student but I don't really know how to put it into words.Help me!Thanks.
