monkey52 1 / 3 Dec 25, 2010 #1I'm talking about a Washington Post article that my uncle read to me a few years ago in my college essay. Is there a need to cite this article in my essay? The post isn't really the main focus of the essay, but it's important. I have it cited for now, with a footnote at the end of the essay, but is this necessary?
kevin1225 1 / 6 Dec 25, 2010 #2always put it in there just in case.It never hurts. The person that reads your essay may be looking for something formal- it depends.

I know that when my English teacher talks about citing on the English AP tests, she says that you automatically get a 2 on your essay if you don't cite at all, citing is essential! She also says that if you are not sure about whether to cite or not, just do it!
