We would like to know more about your interest in NYU. We are particularly interested in knowing what motivated you to apply to NYU and more specifically, why you have applied or expressed interest in a particular campus, school, college, program, and/or area of study?
I always wanted to study abroad, to have an experience that I can look back to in the future, learn about different cultures, and have friends from all over the world, but unfortunately, my parents are against that. And when I heard of NYUAD, I thought that it's the perfect university that will offer me what I wanted, by getting an education at a well-known university, have friends from different countries, and yet still be close to home and my parents.
A friend of mine has been encouraging me to try, and apply to New York university in Abu Dhabi, as she is one of the students who was enrolled in NYUAD's summer academy, and she has quite an experience and knowledge, of the university, the university's education level, and she knew that the university would suit my personality, and my expectations of a university life are going to be met.
I got an opportunity to volunteer at NYUAD, during my 11th grade summer vacation, for Marhaba 2016, to introduce the UAE's culture to the new students and their families. The students of NYUAD, made the university a one of a kind university in the UAE, for its combination of students from all over the world, coming to Abu Dhabi to seek education, and who were part of why I am applying to NYUAD, as they showed me that I'm welcomed at the university.
Surly, as a citizen of the United Arab Emirates, I'm a person who looks forward to graduate high school, get to university, and do great at my future job, in order to make my country, and its rulers be proud of me, because it is the least thing that I can do in order to return the favor that my country has given to me, and that will become a reality, by going to NYUAD, because I think that NYUAD will help me shaping the path that I want to take in order achieve excellent marks as a student, and open many opportunities for me to be a great worker.
Don't relate much to a friend of yours who encouraged you to apply. If you want to relate to that, state what she told you about NYU that really caught your attention.
I guess you wanted to apply to other NYU campuses outside Abu Dhabi? State why your parents didn't want that and why you now got interested to apply to NYUAD other than the other NYU campuses.
Write about the college and program you are applying to and why you are attracted to pursue such program at NYU. Please Change your last paragraph cause it sounds like you are limiting the opportunities you will be offered at NYU. I have met admission officers from all NYU campuses and had the opportunity to talk with them and I know they believe they are launching students who will make history, become confident dynamic global leaders, bring interesting and remarkable experiences, who will utilise every opportunity available at NYU and that's why they have a global network in Abu Dhabi, New York,Shanghai,Italy etc. That's why some majors take a semester in Abu Dhabi and another semester or internship at another NYU network locations.
So present your essay and show them that you are ready to be at NYU to utilise all these amazing opportunities and not an essay showing them how you just want to attend school (be close to home), graduate, and get a job. Show them someone who is ready to make history

4780 Jood, there is no need for you to tell the reviewer that your parents are against you enrolling at NYU- AD. That is irrelevant to your interest in the university and the major that you are interested in applying for acceptance to. While your 11th grade exposure to the university makes for a good background story, and I do suggest keeping that part of the essay in the revised version, you have not discussed what major you are planning to enroll in and why you feel that NYU-AD is the best place for you to pursue your dreams in relation to your chosen major. I mean, you clearly are set on enrolling at the Abu Dhabi campus. What is not clear is why you want to enroll in this campus in relation to your major. So you need to properly represent your chosen college course in one paragraph, then present a supporting reason in relation to the way you be educated in that field at NYU-AD. If you can properly represent the missing part, then you will have a pretty solid response to the prompt. Do not discuss the international campuses at this point. That is not required discussion. Just focus on 2 things; your major and why you want to study that major in the AD campus.
