Hello! I will aply for a scholarship, and I'm supposed to write a study plan including the following:

-Describe your study objectives, and give your reasons for wanting to pursue them at Ewha Womans University.

-Be specific about your major field and your specialized interests, academic experiences within this field

-Describe the kind of program you expect to undertake, and explain how your study plan fits in with your previous training and your future objectives.

study communication and media to become a radio broadcaster

Since I was young, my one and only dream was to be a radio broadcaster, it was the only thing I longed for. I decided to study communication and media at university to be able to fulfil this dream and make it true. Communication and media is a world full of challenging and interesting things that gives the opportunity to handle various fields: politics, society, culture, sports...etc, and to explore them all. I have always dreamed of having my own talk show where to receive guest and do enjoyable, entertaining and interesting segments, that makes people always want to listen to and to deal with different topics in an entertaining way, so by studying communication and media, I will learn more about broadcasting and the right way to communicate and interview my guests, as it also would help enrich my creativity to build up new idea that no one has come up with yet.

Though I wanted to study communication and media a long time ago, I decided to study first English language as a major for my undergraduate degree, because I intended to pursue my masters abroad studying communication and media as a change. So while looking for for scholarships, I found out about ..... university which offers an interesting scholarship program. What drove my attention was that it is first: an all-women university, and second because of the aim of the... . program that seeks to make women from developing countries to be top professionals and global leaders which made me want to be a part of this Program believing it is going to be the suitable thing for me that would help my dreams come true .

As a major, communication and media is one of the longest and widest majors that contains different varieties of fields within it. Students of this major are offered great opportunities and explore so many things which combines both theoretical and practical parts through different courses. Communication and media teaches logical and critical thinking, as well as communication skills. In addition to this it focuses on the forms of media, and production with other aspects. For me, my specialized interest is broadcasting. Radio broadcasting is one of the interesting jobs, in every time I listen to radio programs I see how these broadcasts enjoy their time especially those who are specialized in entertainment, where they do their best to satisfy their audience and bring joy and happiness to their hearts. So I want to be specialized in entertainment and work hard to make my listeners laugh and smile.

upon my own research about communication and media field, I expect to take an all media related courses; that is having the chance to study techniques in film, radio and TV production along with journalism and print media , and I expect to not only dealing with theory, but also practice to make students gain more experience in the field. with a reputable university as ---- university, I believe I will graduate with the knowledge and experience that would lead me to a bright future, and be able to achieve my goals. Once I graduate, I would seek employment in my home country in one of the radio stations, I will introduce a program that is produced by me , because I long for producing radio program using the knowledge and experience gained at University and work hard to make it successful.

Bambina, your essay does not completely respond to the prompt requirements. You wrote this essay without regard for the expected information. this is more of a personal statement because you did not accurately represent the facts of the prompt. There is no clear reason as to why you chose to pursue communication media as degree. If you notice, the prompt is not asking you what your previous college degree is, so that need not be mentioned in this essay. What you should be mentioning, are the reasons why you chose to pursue this particular degree at this time. Does it relate to your current profession? Or are you hoping to change your profession? You cannot say that this is your passion and use that as a reason. It needs to be more compelling and career driven in order to be extremely effective. I see that you mention this part in the later portion of your essay. You need to bring that up to the correct part of the prompt position. Follow the prompt outline in presenting your responses in order to make it easier for the reviewer to find your response to the prompts.

With regard to the university choice, include information about its academic opportunities so that the reasons for your choice are not just based on commonly known information as it is now. There is nothing about what you said that makes it clear to the reviewer that you took the time to get to know the university before choosing it. That makes that line of reasoning weak and unimpressive.
