Help with a paragraph about marketing claims

Hi all,

Can somebody please help me with the English?

All marketing claims should be capable of substantiation to evidence. We noted that pharmaceutical companies in India, Bolivia and the UK failed to provide evidence to support their claims. Moreover, in the UK, fewer references were provided in magazine advertising compared with the previous study that was conducted in 2002. Although, we have seen an increase in the number of references cited to support claims in India compared with earlier study, our findings suggest that there is a need for regulatory bodies in the these countries to strengthen the control of the availability of evidence to support marketing claims. Claims that are not capable of substantiation may be mislead readers.

Your English is great already. You have just a few mistakes. Above, I tried to make it a little better...

I agree with Kevin. Your English is very strong. I'll just add one more to his list of excellent suggestions:

Claims that are not capable of substantiation may be mislead readers.

To improve on Kevin's already excellent advice: "All marketing claims should be capable of substantiation through the use of evidence. "

"substantiate" means "to establish by proof or competent evidence," which makes "substantiation through the use of evidence" redundant.

can we use 'the' before UK, as it is not a common noun ?

Its the United Kingdom, much as it is the United States of America. The "the" distinguishes the kingdom/states in question from other, nonspecific kingdoms and states.
