Guys, Kindly provide your valuable inputs for this essay. Thanks in advance!
As per institute's instructions, This is a brief statement (1-2 pages in length) of how the Master of Science in Analytics fits into my near-term and long-term professional career goals.

Personal statement for Master of Science in Analytics program at North Carolina State University

to be excellent at what I am doing

When I think about the different realms of science and technology, it always reminds me of what Alan Turing once said:
"We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see plenty there that needs to be done."

I was thrilled by the fact that how the use of analytics - flow and temporal - at the Bitcoin's public ledger can compromise anonymity of Bitcoin users. My discussion with one of XXXX's Director made me realize how analytics is playing a major role in how XXXX Research presently operates. I feel excited about upcoming trends described by Bernard Marr in his article titled "New Big Data and IoT Trend: Analytics On The Edge". It is certain fast and actionable data will replace big data. I want to contribute to that age of evolution. Thus, a M.S. degree in Advanced Analytics is the logical culmination of my passion for Analytics in general.

Over the course of my undergraduate program, I participated in various programming contests and won many of them including Infosys Aspirations State Finals, ACM-ICPC Regionals. I always enjoyed the practical aspects of my studies, and that is one of the reasons why my marks in lab exercises, oral examinations, practical examinations, and projects averaged above 85%, one amongst the best in my school. I also developed various small software tools for my school, such as a common attendance and result retrieval system using short messaging service and an online platform for conducting programming competitions.

My graduate studies in Information Security further fuelled my passion for analytics. I was able to build a classifier using Bayesian support vector machines for mapping ciphertext to the corresponding encryption algorithm used for encryption with an accuracy of more than 90 percent. Though idea looked naïve in its inception to me, I understood its criticality when my professor told me its application in war zones. In my master's thesis, I successfully attempted to enhance security in cluster head selection process for hierarchical topologies of wireless sensor network. I conceptualized and modeled nodes participation in selection process using Evolutionary Game Theory since nodes in wireless sensor network have challenges related to bounded rationality. This transformed my perception on how actions such as participation and their outcomes can also act as data points to an analytical model in general. My related paper on Adaptive selection of cryptographic protocols not only received the Best Paper Award in an International Conference of Information Security and Privacy but was also applauded by reviewing committee in the forum.

Quoting Steven Sinofsky, "if there is one piece of advice that transcends the description of your path, it is that no matter where you intend to go, the most important thing is to be excellent at what you are currently doing". Being a part of XXXX's Analyst Batch 2014, I have adapted in two different teams in altogether different Business Units during 3.5 years of my stint at XXXX and have excelled in both. My Exceptional performance ratings and back to back promotions stand testimony to my performance and professionalism. I have consistently demonstrated my pursuit of excellence in all that I have put my mind to and constantly established my ability to rise to the challenges I may face. With the help of my credentials, I was able to convince Director of XXXX Research Technology to drive project on Auto Suggestive Tagging of research documents using Natural Language Processing out of XXXX Pune. Our first phase of set up went live last month for selective users.

When you observe challenges such as the ever-increasing number of connected devices and volumes of IoT data, bandwidth and cost constraints, security concerns for data in transit and compliance issues imposed by regulatory bodies, you see that we are in the middle of a perfect storm that is disrupting the status quo. Increasingly, we need to take the processing power and analytics to the data, rather than vice-versa. This is very much the future for many industries as we look to a world that is projected to have 200 billion connected devices in 2031. Data will increasingly be inherently distributed and inherently federated with limited data movement. As a matter of fact, blockchain technology also inherits its security via distributed computation of proof of work with the help of peer nodes. One of my short-term goals revolves around finding effective solutions and extending my support to solutions in place for above-mentioned pressing problems in analytics. In order to achieve such goals, my short-term objectives are to acquire the best academic tools available and combine them with substantial working experience.

I am pretty confident that program's cohort-based learning and state of the art practicum will also provide opportunities to further hone my leadership abilities. I have had many opportunities to help make a difference in XXXX.

A good example of this was when I signed up for XXXX Bridge Program as a mentor to make young and aspiring women students of Cummins College of Engineering for Women industry ready. During this complete program, I was able to not only work on their strengths and weaknesses but also motivate them to create a mark in the industry. As a result, 5 out of 6 students assigned to me were able to secure a position into XXXX's highly competitive and prestigious Analyst 2018 batch. I am a strong believer of "Leadership does not only entail getting things done, but also enabling others to realize their own potential". This skill of managing and leading others is crucial for me as I move forward in my career towards executive level positions in analytics, which is my long-term professional goal.

I am looking for a school that has the world-class study and research atmosphere, the best faculty, exceptional peers, evolving curriculum and excellent infrastructure, an institute that can facilitate resources to help attain my ambitions.

Prabhjot , this is a well written statement of purpose. It is not a personal statement. Put a pin in this essay and set it aside for the moment when you are asked to write a statement of purpose for your PhD interests. The prompt instructions you were given comes across as pretty specific in its requirements. For this personal statement, you first have to think of what your 1 - 5 year career plans are. That is why the format of this personal statement is different from the average PS but not the same as an SOP.

In this case, you need to think of your short term plan, say 2 years after you graduate. What do you want to have accomplished in that span of time? How does that need to be accomplished? What specific classes or programs at the university will help you create the foundation for those plans? Then think of the next 3 years of your career. What is the ultimate goal that you have set for yourself that will lead into PhD studies eventually? Again, how will the university help you prepare for that eventuality? Classes, mentors, training, these are all part and parcel of your personal statement. As you explain your future career plans, make sure to tie these into a specific part of your current experience that shows how the masters courses will help you strengthen the current foundation that you have. Based on your current foundation, your future studies, and future plans, you should be able to develop a suitable personal statement for the given prompt.

I myself am struggling with writing an SOP but as Holt as mentioned the feedback I have been getting is try to include more on the contents of the programs and how you think they are placed to help you with your future course of action
