Undergraduate / Home is Where the Heart Is, NYU movie and poem [2]

In the year 2050, a movie is being made of your life. Please tell us the name of your movie and briefly summarize the story line.

Home is Where the Heart Is. [My name] has had many homes. After living in Europe for four years, she was able to live the adventure she always craved. She explored the ancient ruins of Greece, witnessed the Spanish bullfights, and admired the Italian masterpieces in Florence. She made many friends and fell in love. However, she still feels like something is missing. Her grandmother's death causes her to return to the U.S. with her fiancé and reunite with her family and her best friend, Jay. After one week of chaos, a rekindled romance, and revisited memories, she is reminded of what is truly important to her: family.

My response is 521 characters and it's supposed to be 500 or less :/

Write a haiku, limerick, or short (eight lines or less) poem that best represents you.

Curious and craving adventure
Waiting, waiting
For the sea to part
Watching, watching
As the world reveals itself to me.
Like a newly born bird
I am ready to fly
And jump into the unknown.

Undergraduate / NYU Supplements: spend one day with a famous New Yorker - F. Scott Fitzgerald [4]

Your response about Fitzgerald is good, but maybe be more specific about what you would do and where you would go as well as what you'd talk about. Also try to make it say more about you, maybe how Fitzgerald's beliefs reflect your own or why you believe he is such an important person in history.

I think your movie is really interesting. I am Filipino and I, too, have been mistaken as Mexican.

I agree that your "why NYU" essay is very undeveloped. Talk about what specifically interests you in sociology and what exactly NYU has to offer that other universities do not.

I would appreciate it if you could look at my NYU prompts as well, thanks!

Undergraduate / Cookie Monster, NYU - Famous New Yorker [4]

If you had the opportunity to spend one day in New York City with a famous New Yorker, who would it be and what would you do? (Your New Yorker can be anyone -past or present, fictional or nonfictional - who is commonly associated with New York City; they do not necessarily have to have been born and raised in New York.)

I would spend one day with Cookie Monster. I would try to show him that the city is full of other delicious food besides cookies. We'd start slow with some cupcakes from Mongolia Bakery to ease him out of his cookie craving, then perhaps a famous New York hotdog from a street vendor. Eventually we will make it through some of New York's famous restaurants, trying everything from New York-style pizza to Italian and Mexican cuisine. Hopefully after eating our way through New York City I will have taught him that he shouldn't be afraid of trying new things. (462 characters out of 500)

I was trying to be creative by thinking of someone that most people wouldn't write about, but will the admissions board take it, do you think?

Undergraduate / STREET GUITARIST; NYU - my movie, Beautiful Song [5]

In the year 2050, a movie is being made of your life. Please tell us the name of your movie and briefly summarize the story line.

Beautiful Song. [My name] travels the world to conduct research for her book. On her journey she is touched by the stories of a Thai ex-con missionary, an African child soldier, a French film director dying of cancer, and a tribal chief of Peru . At the end of her expedition she cannot reach a conclusion. Before her flight she observes a street guitarist. She realizes that each string is unique, but together they make one beautiful song. Each person represents different strings: good and evil, new and old. As ugly as life may be, man's ability to persevere is what can make it a beautiful song.

Undergraduate / STREET GUITARIST; NYU - my movie, Beautiful Song [5]

This is what I changed it to:

Discovery. [my name] travels the world to conduct research for her book. On her journey she is touched by the stories of a French film director dying of cancer, a tribal chief of Peru, a Thai ex-con missionary, and an African child soldier. Through her expeditions she learns the importance of perseverance and culture, and the hardships of survival and regret. As she learns more about this people, she also discovers more about herself.
