While I can develop the general functioning of the platform with my two years of software development experience in web and mobile applications, I lack the expertise to build education-related AI models, which is limited domestically. The proposed study will establish a solid foundation for my research and technical knowledge to integrate AI features into the platform, which will help every student to learn independently.

One of the most significant differences between urban and rural education in Mongolia is access to quality educational materials and skilled educators, which rural areas lack. This uniform approach hinders student engagement and worsens academic disparities. Due to this fact, my Master's study will support my professional development, specifically in the fields of Deep Learning and Machine Learning. The study will equip me with the specialized skills and techniques needed to design a learning content recommendation system capable of offering a learning plan for independent study tailored to each Mongolian student through the platform.

Also, students face difficulty identifying their learning deficiencies when they engage in independent learning. Such a deficiency in self-awareness often results in repeated errors, poor exam performance, and decreased motivation for continuing education. To resolve this issue, I will focus on research projects at CoLam, such as multimodal learning analytics and AI-based feedback. Studying these research projects will support me in creating automated real-time feedback systems for students to avoid falling behind and provide immediate suggestions for correction.

In summary, a combination of the curriculum and research environment offered by my chosen universities is a crucial component of my career. This range of skills will train me to become a professional AI engineer capable of contributing to the education and technology sectors in Mongolia.

First, in the professional innovation, I will lead the development of an AI-based learning platform with Datacare LLC developers after arriving in Mongolia. Through research projects such as "multimodal learning analytics" and "self-regulated learning", I will acquire the practical skills to analyze student behavioural data and create personalized learning paths for rural students. A major challenge is the shortage of high-level AI experts in Mongolia, which could hinder complex algorithm development. To overcome this, I will reach out to researchers at the Centre for Learning Analytics for technical advice. This link will be a critical factor to ensure that the platform meets international pedagogical and technical standards.

Second, I plan to launch a program to empower rural teachers. The "human-centred AI" course will provide me with the practical skills to design the training content. A key issue is that 75.2% of Mongolian teachers have never received pedagogical guidelines to conduct distance education, and 20% of teachers have no competency to operate digital equipment (All for Education, NGO, 2021). To overcome it, I will work with the education and technology graduates of the Australia Awards Alumni Network to form a team of trainers, providing teachers with modern educational and technological understanding.

Third, I will lead the creation of open-source Mongolian speech-to-text and text-to-speech tools for domestic companies. Through the Natural Language Processing course, I will learn the techniques required to process and tokenise large-scale Mongolian text data. Currently, high data-processing costs prevent local startups from developing AI models. I will solve this barrier by engaging my international peer network at Monash to initiate cost-effective, open-source development. This international collaboration will help overcome financial and technical obstacles while empowering Datacare LLC developers.
