One year has witnessed dramatic improvement on my English writing ! A year ago, I was still a layman on English writing, with my pieces of writing reflecting vague comprehension and lack of formality. Having enrolled in you English writing course, I have undergone a remarkable growth in writing both technically and ideologically.
I am now eloquent in conveying my ideas , choosing positive and strong words to illustrate my viewpoints. Also, a clear awareness of my purposes and audience enable me to gain deeper insights and professionalism throughout my writing process.
As a science-based student intrigued by order in disorder around the universe, similarly in the writing course, I find it a challenging yet exciting experience f to explore the logistics and essential focuses out of miscellaneous ideas and materials. Enclosed with this cover letter are several pieces of writing centered on college application . Recommendation for XXX, for example, allowed me to interview with her sincerely on various topics to grasp her characters . I investigated on her strengths and expectations for her ideal position (T.A.), among which I screened, extracting those effective and convincing points to highlight in the recommendation. Thus, XXX's most favorable qualities are all presented in the recommendation letter, which will definitely impress the audience.
Another significant improvement is the formality and professionalism I have cultivated in the writing tasks. Compared with my writing portfolio one year ago (including personal statement and cover letter), writing samples enclosed in this portfolio demonstrate a much conventional and professional writing style along with more straightforward focuses. Each essay is repeatedly polished so as to achieve a lucid and lively exposition.
In all, the English writing course has brought up the best of myself, professionalism and keen perception. Opening up a pathway for self-discovery, the process of writing, though challenging, has proved rewarding for ego trip and will certainly transform myself to a more critical thinker in the long run.
