Higher education is an indispensable part of today's society
This letter is to introduce myself as a candidate for Young Professionals Programme (YPP) and to let you know that I am very excited about significant responsibilities and opportunities YPP offers both in my home country and abroad.
As mentioned on my resume, I completed my B.A. in Economics degree from XXXXXX University in 2008 as valedictorian (summa cum laude). Following
graduation, I moved to USA for graduate school and I graduated with an M.S. in Economics degree from XXXXXX University in August 2010.
As an economists, I always enjoy using statistics because I believe that it puts economics on an emprical and scientific ground. That is why throughout my bachelor's and master's education, I have also focused on statistics besides econometrics and macroeconomics which can be noted from the courses that I took. Thanks to those courses and academic projects, I have gained considerable experience and skills on statistical modeling and forecasting, analyzing and interpreting statistical data, data processing and data collection. Furhtermore, through my job experience and academic background I have acquired independence, determination, initiative, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Hereby, I am confident that I possess the skills and educational background that you require for this position. Equipped with an excellent academic background in multicultural environment, strong interpersonal and analytical skills and a desire to be a long-term worthy asset for UN, I believe that I am an ideal candidate for YPP.
