After COVID-19 labor market in many countries has changed rapidly, Indonesia is one of them. The current labor market in Indonesia is extremely tight and competitive. One issue that I found as a Talent Acquisition at recruitment agency is the significant skill gap between candidates and the demands of labor market. Many candidates succeed in securing employment but later struggle to meet performance expectations. I have seen companies struggle to retain employees who cannot adapt to the demands of their roles, while employees face the frustration of leaving job before they can grow. These repeated patterns have led me to reflect on the deeper structural issues that exist within talent development and retention in Indonesia. This realization has strengthened my aspiration to become a Human Resources Leader specializing in Talent Development, where I can design effective development strategies, support talent retention in a competitive labor market, and create HR system that balance performance with employee well-being to improve the quality of Human Resources in Indonesia.
During my undergraduate studies at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta, I learned various human resources management topics, including recruitment, development, compensation, and industrial relations. One appealing module was Training and Development of HRM because I loved learning about people development in organization, including the challenge that will be faced. To further hone my skills, I applied for a position as a staff of Human Resources Development at Faculty student Executive Board, where I supported members of the organizations through effective development programs aimed at improving their skill and performance. With my academic background and experiences, I am confident in my ability to successfully pursue this master's program and contribute by exchanging knowledge, experiences, and fresh perspectives with others.
Strategic Human Resources Leadership at University of Radboud is one of the programs that combines strategic HRM Knowledge with leadership and real - world problem solving. One module that particularly interests me is HRM and Strategy, which addresses how organizations align human resource practices with business strategies across different levels. The module also emphasizes the strategic role of human capital with the ability to design and implement HR systems that respond to dynamic labor market demands. The program will hone my ability to analyze complex workforce challenges and design strategic HR solutions that align with evolving labor market demands.
Additionally, I chose Radboud University because of the international environment that Radboud provides, enabling me to build global mindset and understand cross cultural workforce dynamics. Moreover, Radboud University is also widely known as a research-based university which strongly appeals to me as I aim to deepen my knowledge of HR practices through an analytical and research driven perspective.
