Recommendation Letter for Scholarship

I'm going to apply for a scholarship, but my lecturer is too busy to write me a letter of recommendation so he told me to make it by myself. can you comment on this recommendation letter?

1.How long have you known the applicant and in what relationship?
As a lecturer, I have known her for 3 years since she became a 2nd semester student. "X" attended several subjects that I taught such as Fiber Testing Theory and practice, Research Methods, and Textile Quality Control. I am also a head of Textile Engineering Departement and an examiner during the field work practice seminar and her thesis defense.

2. What do you consider to be the applicant's strengths?
What impress me about "X" are her integrity, her hard working spirit, her desire to learn and her interpersonal skill. She is highly intelligent and has good analytical skills especially in terms of practice course. Her overall intelligence is also reflected in her grades for the course, which were by far the best in the class. When called upon to give her thesis defense in front of her peers, "X" spoke clearly and eloquently about her conclusions and responded to questions in a thoughtful way.

3.What do you consider to be the applicant's weaknesses?
"X" is an independent person. Sometimes she prefers to solve her own problems rather than ask for help to others. Nevertheless, she is a person who is always relied upon to whenever there is a group task. She may not has many friends because she thought it's better to have a few friend who have the same way of thinks with her, but she is a good leader in the group.

4. How well do you think the applicant has thought out plans for graduate study?
Since she was a student, she showed interest in becoming a Lecturer. She is often asked by her friends to teach them in preparation for the exam. Therefore, "X" has searched for information about the master program by actively asking the lecturers and often discussing it with me as well. She began to prepare herself and find a college that suited her interests, in accordance with her current majors and studied the curriculum of courses that she would take.

5. Please comment on the applicant's performance record, potential, or personal qualities which you believe would be helpful in considering the applicant's application for the proposed degree program.

She is one of the best students in the textile engineering department. She graduated with cum laude and was ranked fourth among all students majoring in textile engineering. This shows that she has a clear focus and purpose in her education. I am certain that "X" is going to continue to do great and creative things in her future. Beside that, she is an active organizers on campus and outside the campus. She also has the ability to communicate well so she was often asked to become an MC on various campus events. Overall, "X" is talented, caring, intuitive, dedicated, and focused in her pursuits. "X"'s endless curiosity, combined with her willingness to take risks, leads me to believe there will be no limit to her growth and achievements in graduate program and beyond.

Hilza, have a problem with your response to question number 3. This is too obviously written by the student because it delves into a personal response rather than an academic response from a professor who has observed you in a student setting. He would not have known that you have few friends, why you have few friends, and what your criteria for choosing friends are. The consideration of your weaknesses in this instance does not delve on the social aspect of your life but rather your academic weaknesses which I am sure you have even though you appear to be a perfect student. One of these weaknesses is your inability to ask for help when you need it. The professor should delve on a specific instance when you failed to ask for help resulting in a failure on your part to accomplish a task assigned to you.

Your response to question number 4 is also incorrect. You are being asked to explain how well you believe the student has prepared for the masters course. Instead, you detailed how she performs as a lecturer, which is not the point of the question. The response to this should be along the lines of your research interests as a student and your motivation for higher study. The masters courses are often research intensive and your professor should be able to justify this in this aspect as one of the reasons that led you to decide to study a masters course. The thorough research you have done in your profession is what should have led you to realize that you have shortcomings that can be corrected by advanced classes.
