I am writing to you with regard to Mr Rosdi Izam Ibrahim, who has requested that I write a letter of recommendation on his behalf. I have worked with Rosdi Izam Ibrahim for 5 years. Specifically, I am Technical Manager and his superior. He is a Project and Maintenance Engineer and he responsible for CNG's station project Installation and maintenance works including budgeting, complying with safety terms and regulations, making a research for new pieces of equipment and Testing and Commissioning activities.
Over the time that I have known Rosdi Izam Ibrahim, he has consistently performed his duties with competence and often goes the extra mile, doing more than expected. He started as a Project and Maintenance Engineer 2008 and his responsible is to oversee our new project. The project included designing, to supply, installation and commissioning of 78 units Compressed Natural Gas equipment for Petronas Dagangan Berhad all over countries. He did so well, just after a year working, he manages to work independently with great creativity and enthusiasm. He also put in many long hours and achieved our client, Petronas Dagangan Berhad target which is to commence 24 CNG stations per year.
He is a fast learner as in terms of technical, he shows absolutely tremendous. After a year, he has capability to do Testing and Commissioning activity as it is normally done by our Competent Person who is awarded by our equipment supplier, IMW from Canada. Because of that capability, company sent him to Canada to verify his competency. As the result, now he is entitled as Commissioning Engineer for IMW equipment in Southeast Asia.
Rosdi Izam Ibrahim is an excellent problem solver. I still remember when we had 3 new stations in operation suddenly collapsed because of the crankshaft bearing damaged. As the stations considered new, our company started to think that it happened because of our supplier had sent us the defects products. Conversely, Rosdi Izam Ibrahim proves that the damaged was caused by improper job done by our contractor when anchoring the gas compressor resulting very high vibration. In addition, he is an excellent communicator and has the skills and personality needed to be a leader. He is the key person who collaborates with our Local Authority, Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) in making a standard guideline for application of pipeline design for CNG station in Malaysia.
While Applicant's leaving our company to attend graduate school is a loss to us, I have every confidence that Applicant will thrive in a graduate school setting. Applicant is an intelligent, committed, and inquisitive individual. I believe that he will be an asset to your program.
