Hello ! :)
I am applying for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, and this is my motivation letter for the Bachelor's degree program in Business Informatics. I would be really grateful for any comments or suggestions you may have 😊

Dear Members of the Selection Committee,

Technology has transformed business operations worldwide, shifting from manual to digital systems. However, I experienced a different reality when helping my mother run her small business, where her business still used paper because she didn't fully understand digital tools. In high school, I took an informatics class where I first learned basic decision-making logic, such as the "IF" concept. My teacher explained how this logic is applied in a real business application called Qasir. I was interested in its features, especially how it can help to record data and print receipts which motivated me to try to implement it in my mother's business. Despite its efficiency, my mother found the system complicated to use.

According to a report by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, many small businesses still struggle to adopt digital systems effectively. This made me realize that many small enterprises in Indonesia also face the same challenges, where digital tools are increasingly available but not fully understood or effectively applied. To respond to this, I aim to pursue Business Informatics at Széchenyi István University in Hungary. The curriculum at Széchenyi István University aligns well with my goals, as it offers courses that not only teach business concepts but also demonstrate how information technology is applied in business, such as the Business Intelligence course, which helps students understand business challenges and use digital tools properly.

During high school, I achieved satisfying academic results, with an average score of 89.96/100 and 95,33 in Informatics. I also collaborated with peers in school business organizations to organize school events and faced challenges such as scheduling tasks and coordinating team members with different responsibilities. With the support of digital tools, my team successfully implemented solutions that ensured the events ran smoothly and successfully. I am excited to strengthen this foundation and gain new experiences by studying in Hungary, one of the European countries that welcomes many international students. Although I may face some language barriers, I do not see them as an obstacle. I plan to prepare by learning Hungarian so I can adapt to the environment. I believe that studying in a diverse academic setting will allow me to grow and build connections with people from different countries.

Since I aspire to create systems that help business owners run their businesses more easily and reach people globally, I plan to join a technology company that focuses on helping businesses adopt technology for growth. In the long term, I aim to apply the knowledge and experience I gain to promote Hungarian technology in Indonesia and collaborate in creating systems that are simple for business owners to use. Therefore, this program will truly help me make a meaningful contribution to the collaboration between Hungary and Indonesia.

On a scale of 1-10 how likely am I to pass the document selection with this motivation letter?
Thanks in advance for your time and help
Have a nice day!

According to a report by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce

Don't reference research or information from other sources. You should be able to make this reference in an authoritative manner. Meaning, that you can explain this as commonly known information, rather than your seeking out this information. You can effectively start with, "Many businesses..." for this purpose.

The review committee will actually be looking for more in-depth or definitive reasons as to why you would opt to study college in Hungary You make superficial references to this in your second to the last paragraph. Try to go deeper in that discussion, Make specific mention of what attracts you to study in Hungary. Explain the reasons better than you do now.

Well, I cannot rate this on a scale of 1-10 as I do not know how the reviewers might view your application based on this letter and other documentary considerations. It would be safe to say though that as long as you have tried your best, you will be given a fair chance at consideration for the scholarship.
