Dear ....,
I am Dinh Pham Phuong Linh, currently a student in class 23DA3, majoring in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Construction Project Management at Hanoi Architectural University. I was born and raised in Hanoi, and I currently live with my grandmother, parents, and younger sister. Both of my parents serve in the military.
To me, architecture and construction are not simply technical fields, they are also reflections of the development of society, culture, and people. Studying at Hanoi Architectural University has given me the opportunity not only to gain knowledge in architecture and construction but also to learn about different aspects of life. Meeting and working with lecturers who have strong expertise in the field, as well as studying alongside friends who share the same passion and determination, have made me feel that my university years are being built on a strong foundation for my future.
I am someone who always wants to step outside my comfort zone and experience new things. I have had the opportunity to travel to different regions of Vietnam as well as several other countries. Through these journeys, I have realized that every place has its own culture, architecture, and customs. These experiences have helped me develop a habit of observing, asking questions, and learning about how people create and shape the spaces around them.
Therefore, when my home university announced the short-term exchange program at Cracow University of Technology - a university with strong expertise and a good reputation in the field of construction in Poland, I saw it as a great opportunity to broaden my perspective and intellectual horizons in an international environment. As a Civil Engineering student, I am particularly interested in gaining experience in an international academic environment and learning more about the Eurocodes. Besides professional knowledge, I also hope to experience life in Cracow, a city with a rich history and distinctive architecture, where historical values are preserved alongside the development of a modern city. For me, studying in Cracow would provide a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand experience of urban planning, the preservation of historical sites, and sustainable structural design - areas that are becoming increasingly important to the modernization of Hanoi.
A "vast construction site" is taking shape across Vietnam as the country moves forward, with people from many different fields contributing to this development. Among them are lecturers from Hanoi Architectural University, who are not only teaching in the classroom but also conducting research, working in the field, and directly contributing their knowledge and expertise to projects that are changing the face of the country. I hope that one day, I will also be able to contribute to such projects in my own way.
I hope that this exchange program in Cracow will be an opportunity for me to go further, learn more, and return with a broader perspective on the path I have chosen.
Yours sincerely and thank you.
