being kidnapped by terrorists
Hello guys , this is my draft for chevening's Networking skills essay , i will be very thankful for any help in order to Improve it .
My journey with my network skills starts when i was 14 years old , I was kidnapped by a terrorist group and been in their custody for 6 days
later on i discovered that my neighbor was the one who responsible for planning the kidnap and because of that after they release me i was afraid and having problem with making new network with the people , that was my weakness in that time until i wake up someday and decided to change it and decided to live, so i dedicated to develop my networking skills by reading books and watching lectures on the internet talking about it and when its came to practicing , i discovered how beautiful and important is that as it changed my life for better , this empathize me to continue in focusing and enhancing it until this weakness became my biggest strength .
In addition to that , one of the most important step in developing these skills were during My staying in jordan for the purpose of study , as a foreigner in this country that's motivate me to make a network with peoples from different cultures and citizenship as i participate through alot of scientific and social activities., I was also responsible for founding the reading club in my university and i was the one who led the monthly meetings , as we met every month to discuss and sharing our reviews about the book that we planed to read in the previous month, in a very motivational environment the students from different arab countries and different cultures sit on the same table and share their ideas and views in a very beautiful and interactive way .
After i finished my education in jordan and return back to my Iraq i still have a strong relationships with these people as we always communicate and share our thoughts and learn from the experience of each other that's what make me ask my self, if i got all these benefits from my network with these friends how beautiful and effective will be if i became a part of something bigger like chevening community where thousands of student from all the world sharing a big dreams and ambition like me , this will be Fascinating.
Finally , I gained alot of networking skills through my work as medical representative ,as networking skills play a major rule in my job which
based on building a broad network with the health care providers and with my colleagues . Through Networking i got my job and by the proper use of it i exceed the expectations of my managers and Became one of the best medical reps in my company in iraq.Holt Educational Consultant - / 14,797

The problem is, the rest of your essay doesn't portray any actual networking skills that will be useful to you as a professional and a Chevening scholar. Chevening is looking for a network that can help to improve their current roster of alumni related networks. All of which help to improve the career opportunities for their scholars, regardless of when they became a Chevening scholar.
Work on presenting your networking skills as a medical representative instead. As a med rep, you have the ability to network throughout various channels in the medical field. This is an untapped network in your essay that could very well help you present a strong networking background. You can mention 2 networks under this occupation. The first, is the doctor related network and the second, is the pharmacy related network. Both of which can impress the reviewer if you can create a solid explanation as to how these two networks can be of great use to you in the pursuit of your career highs and how the medical study scholars of Chevening can approach you for help in case they need mentoring or help from a person in the medical or pharmacy field. That would create the best possible networking essay for you. The current one that you have doesn't really function well in the sense of a networking essay.
