My passion lies in the scientific study of the human mind and behavior. I have always yearned to learn psychology more specifically Child Psychology. Child Psychology is a rather unique and complex branch of psychology. It deals with not only how children grow mentally but, physically, and emotionally as well. The mind of a child in itself is unique but also extremely fragile making it easy to influence. The number of people being diagnosed with some form of a mental illness is rising at an alarming rate, most being children and teens. Each year that number grows because society tends to overlook mental illness. Hence why child psychology is so important. A child's emotions will determine who they become. Their mental state will shape their future. My vision of the future is one where the number of people suffering from a mental disorder has decreased even in the slightest number. Signs of most lifetime mental disorders can be present from childhood, however many children with mental disorders are not getting treatment. Their disorder is often dismissed as a phase, bad attitude or them just being lazy when it could be the start of something very dangerous. Once they become an adult it becomes harder to treat their disorder.If signs of a mental disorder can be found and treated from childhood, it could drastically decrease a large number of people suffering from a mental disorder in their adulthood protecting not only the individual but also the community from those who suffer from more dangerous disorders such as Schizophrenia. In short, I wish to guide children and help them to grow mentally and emotionally, ensuring that as adults they have a healthy mindset so that they can have a healthy life.

How do you see Child Psychology becoming an important part of overcoming the educational challenges in Canada or worldwide? You need to convince the reviewer that the field of study you have chosen is one that will help to heighten the level of education in Canada in a manner similar to the breakthrough developments Strangway introduced during his time.
