THE PRINCIPAL MILITARY HOSPITAL OF TUNIS
PHARMACY DEPARTMENT

Reference Letter to the Chevening Prgram
TO THE HIGHT COMMISION

As the head of pharmacy department of the Principal Military Hospital of Tunis, I am very pleased to be able to recommend Miss NAME for the Chevening Scholarship Program in the UK . I met NAME a long time ago: In a first occasion I have known her as a student in the University of Pharmacy than as an intern in my department of pharmacy in Military Hospital and now as a professional in the medical promotion. Consequently, I think that I should be the best reference for her.

Tesnime was a student in my class of Phamacotechology and Galenic pharmacy, where I noticed for the first time her eagerness to the knowledge and her curiosity. As far as I remember, NAME was well ranked in her pharmaceutical study witch enabled her to be assigned to the Military Hospital for her internship. Particular mention must be made, that the internal pharmacy of the Military Hospital of Tunis is the Biggest and richest pharmacy in Tunisia. During this internship, NAME had participated in many projects as the reorganization of drugs and medical devices according to specific criteria, worked with the informatics unit to conceive an internal program to permit the automatization and the referencing of medical products. NAME contributed also to the success of our annual Inventory bias reports elaboration in order to generate new procedures that insured the best supervision of the medicines dispenses. In addition, she excelled in her presentations in the context of continuous training where we discuss the actuality and the innovations in pharmacy. Here, I liked her manner of speaking and her mastery of the subject which reflected a high level of self-confidence, assertiveness and willingness. As Colonel in Military Hospital, it is a must to respect the internal rules and hierarchy that sometimes wearied the rest of trainees. Her respect of time and the severe recommendations was a model to other externs. In addition of her work in pharmacy, NAME assumed the role of clinical pharmacist in Endocrinology Service, coordinated between the two departments, validated the prescription to avoid drug interactions or medical redundancy and explained to patients how they use their prescriptions. A side of being her Chief in pharmacy, I was her supervisor in the thesis which compared molecules in their conventional forms and advanced forms (Amphotericin, Doxorubicin, and Paclitaxel) in order to evaluate the benefice/ risk for the patients. Sincerely my busy work between the university, Hospital and the field didn't allowed me to assist her closely but I was very astonished by her devotion and enthusiasm to build a coherent and innovative thesis. For that reason, I relied on her autonomy and her sense of responsibility to write drafts. It was a particular experience that allowed me to know her more. In fact, NAME was a good listener to my advice. However she became very insisting in some points that showed her strong character and I really appreciated her perseverance. In June 2013 was a memorable day for her and also for me as her supervisor, the day of defending her thesis when she ended honorably her study in pharmacy with the higher appreciations of the juries.

Her exceptional trainings and her dynamism boosted her to start her professional career in the most prestigious pharmaceutical companies where she worked in marketing and sales. Consequently I am in continuous contact with her as a partner to those pharmaceutical companies. In this sense, NAME is occupying by the availability of her products in our Hospital trends. For this purpose she schedules regularly meetings to present the specificity of her medical products with her usual passion and her sense of compelling.

To carry out her ambitions and to develop her professional capabilities. I am be very confident to recommend NAME to apply for your renowned program and to assist her in her journey to the excellence

If you have any questions or concerns about the candidate NAME , I will be available at XXX

tess, here is the thing, as a professional editor, I can manage to pick out what it is that you want to say in this letter. Unfortunately, the confusing method by which you wrote the letter will make it difficult for the ordinary reader or reviewer to actually comprehend what you are trying to say. The letter is messed up by your use of incorrect English vocabulary throughout the letter. There are instances when the letter deviates and discusses the colonel rather than sticking to only you as the focus of the letter. In all honesty, the letter will be better helped by a professional revision rather than having you try to correct the errors. The Chevening recommendation letter needs a higher level of vocabulary presentation than you have in this presentation.

You can do one of two things to try to improve the presentation. The first is to run the letter through a grammar checker that will hopefully help to clear up the numerous confusing parts or, you can opt to seek professional editing through our services link above. It will be difficult for me to point out the areas for improvement in the letter you wrote because there are simply too many to point out. I would end up revising your whole letter, something that the rules of the forum do not allow me to do for you.

The information is valid and useful, but little informative because of the presentation problems. The letter has the potential to become a strong recommendation for you to the program. The problem, is that the weak, confusing, and unclear thought presentations prevent it from doing so.
