Leadership is my drive. I love to influence people. It is in my blood since the childhood. From many examples of my leadership I would like to write about the last two from my professional life.
As an auditor in the one of «Big four» companies, I always work with different teams in different projects. This summer I have been chosen to be a senior specialist in insurance project. It was my first insurance project with lots of specifics. In Russia for insurance companies even a special chart of accounts. For my team it was a new project, too. Despite many features of my new project, it was the best opportunity for me to show and use my leadership and influencing skills. To motivate my team for best result, firstly, I decided to study the theoretical basis of the insurance audit before the start of the project. Self-confidence is very important for me as for leader. Secondly, I organized the team work in the way that my colleagues had enough time for learning about the specific of that project. More over, I tried to keep optimistic and positive in the team by little coffee breaks during the project. It helps me to communicate with my team about the project in informal atmosphere. As a result, I with my team successfully completed the project in time.
Another example of my professional leadership is my participation in the organization of trainings for interns. Even though it was my first experience of establishing trainings, I was sure that I could do it because of my successful work experience and good knowledge of audit topics. My core mission was creating interesting activities for new colleagues. As a result, I invented a new format of trainings that was like an audit monopoly. New game format of my training helps me to motivate interns to learn as more as possible of my materials. As a result I was managed to finish all my training activities ahead of time and received many positive feedback from interns about the format of my training. Moreover, my colleagues hearing about the success and interest of the training format invented by me, they took over my experience and also used the monopoly format to present their parts of the trainings.
To sum up, i think that examples above are only start of my journey on becoming a global leader. I hope that Chevening helps me to open new opportunities for developing my leadership potential.
