I began my entrepreneurial journey long before I understood the term itself. At fifteen, observing my brother working on his computer introduced me to embroidery digitizing. What started as curiosity soon developed into a valuable skill, enabling me to contribute to my family's support. Over time, this teenage interest evolved into a freelance career with international clients and ultimately led to the establishment of my own online business. Reflecting on those formative years, I recognize that they instilled in me the essential principle of business: creating genuine value for others.
By the time I began my BS in Business Administration at the University of Karachi, I was already accustomed to managing client deadlines and addressing practical business challenges. The university experience provided the theoretical foundation behind my practical knowledge. Courses in marketing, consumer behavior, and strategic management offered essential frameworks that complemented my existing instincts. I graduated third in my class with a 3.79 CGPA, but more significantly, I gained a deeper understanding of how successful businesses identify opportunities and cultivate enduring relationships.
As my freelance work progressed, I encountered a common limitation: exchanging time directly for income constrained my growth potential. Recognizing the need for a more sustainable model, I launched my Etsy shop. Rather than creating custom orders for each client, I transitioned to offering ready-made digital designs available for purchase at any time. This shift from a service-based approach to a product-based business fundamentally changed my perspective on scalability and entrepreneurship.
This change in perspective was reinforced during a startup masterclass at university. I learned that entrepreneurship extends beyond launching a company; it requires adaptability, recognizing opportunities, and building sustainable ventures. The course also highlighted the limitations of experiential learning alone. To develop resilient businesses, I recognized the necessity of a deeper understanding of global strategy, innovation, and the influence of diverse cultures and economies on markets.
This realization is precisely what attracts me to the GLOCAL program, particularly Track I: Entrepreneurship in Global Markets. I seek to understand how to bridge the gap between local innovation and global implementation. With years of practical experience, I am eager for GLOCAL to provide the international perspective necessary to learn how entrepreneurs adapt to diverse markets and create enduring value globally.
For my master's thesis, I intend to examine how digital entrepreneurs from developing countries can enter international markets and establish sustainable businesses. I am particularly interested in how creative enterprises adapt their strategies to different cultural contexts while maintaining long-term growth. Following the program, my objective is to continue developing businesses in the digital and creative sectors globally. Additionally, I aspire to contribute to building ecosystems that support and empower emerging entrepreneurs.
Reflecting on my journey, I recognize that it was not guided by a predetermined plan but shaped by curiosity, experimentation, and a continuous pursuit of knowledge. The skill I discovered as a teenager evolved into a profession that supported my academic achievements and now motivates my global ambitions. I am confident that the GLOCAL program offers the ideal environment for my next chapter, providing the challenges and resources necessary to build impactful businesses.

I do not get a sense of how successful you are in the business at the moment. Your ability to succeed prior to attending the program is an important consideration because it shows that the program will be investing in a person who has a proven track record and is thus, worthy of additional support from the scholarship program. The mentions of your skills, client base, and success are highly vague and leaves the reviewer with more questions than answers. You need to provide more solid information in relation to your ability to grow your business in the real world as well. While most businesses are online these days, having the ability to run a successful physical store front will also help your application.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to review my letter. I'll revise it by adding more concrete evidence of my entrepreneurial achievements and by making my business experience and growth more specific.
