JimenezS 1 / 1 Dec 26, 2013 #1Math is a subject that most students try to avoid. They will most likely drift towards English, History, or Science because those are the subjects that are found to be more interesting. Although, math has always been my strong suit when it came to school subjects because of its tendency of following steps and rules. Knowing that learning a formula or a few steps for a problem has kept me at ease, which is something that I cannot say for any other subject but math. The passion my former teachers have had for math has also contributed in my success in the subject. The numerous amounts of valuable teachers that I have had during my educational career have encouraged and helped me throughout the years to excel in math. However, the teacher that has affected me the most has been Mrs. McAllister. This is because she always expects the best from all of her students; she never doubts their intelligence, even when they are not doing their best. Her positive attitude towards her students has made me determined to accomplish more than my best and excel in every class I have taken with her. Her enthusiasm to have all of her students pass her Calculus class has animated me to not want to disappoint her expectation, it has made me want to push myself to do the best that I can accomplish and even more.My math achievements are not only because of my need to follow steps and rules, but because of the teachers that have always been there for me when I needed a little push. I owe my success to them for inspiring me love math as much as they do.
