This is my first post, so I ask you to help me in order to improve and to correct the following aplication for a scholarship.
Describe your three main achievements in your field e.g. degrees/grades/competition/publications. Your entries on this page should include anything else you consider to be an important part of your application.
In the last 4 years I qualified for the Bulgarian National Mathematical Olympiad, the most important national contest, where I gained two gold and two silver medals. By taking part to this Olympiad I concluded that it is hard to get in top, but even harder to remain there.
In the last 2 years I also qualified for the Bulgarian National Science Olympiad for Juniors, a contest where there are used three subjects: physics, chemistry and biology. This competition was a challenge for me because there was a practical task for each subject. So, my creativity was stimulated to apply the theoretical knowledge during tasks. Even thought I haven't obtained any prize, I believe that my participation is a success because this year I ranked upper in tables than the precedent year. I learned that more important than the success is the perseverance.
My most important achievements are those from two international math competitions that I took part. During last year at American Mathematics Competion 8 (AMC), an individual contest, I gained the First Place with Perfect Score. This allowed me to take part to AMC 10 where I frontloaded my colleagues.
Also, together with my teammates I participated for Purple Comet !, an American online competion with more than ... teams from whole world, obtained First Place ( for middle school 401 and up) and Honorable Mention in another year.
This competition developed our skills in synchronizing activities, reading problems online and submitting answers, as well as planning teamwork strategies while the clock was running. This has given me a lot of experience in teamwork, problem solving and maintaining a high level of responsibility.
Even my academic success is very important to me it is also important to be an active member of my community. Even since the first grade I have been having the same deskmate. So, I consider myself as a sociable and friendly boy. Hence I like to help my classmates with explanations at math, informatics or physics. Starting this school year, I thought I have to help my colleagues even more, so I've been elected as Vice President in Pupils Committee from my College and Manager of Mobility-Formation-Information-Conciliation Department at county level. Hence, in my campaign I applied math skills like strategy, planning and informatics skills like the presentation of my projects which was made in PowerPoint.
In order to get used to creative writing, I participate as a volunteer on a site which promotes the science. By consulting many science sites like Physorg, Nasa, BBC and other I inform myself and then write news which are published. I like a lot this activity because it puts me in contact with the latest news. Also, I typeset math lessons using my math schoolbooks. This voluntary activity helps me to practice my HTML and LaTex skills and also learn to typeset in Joomla. So, this hobby combines the use of mathematical knowledge, typesetting into a new software, as well as creative writing.
As an ancient latin proverb says " Mens sana in corpore sano" ( a healthy mind into a healthy body) I consider it's necessary to apply it in the all-day life. Although A levels take up a great deal of time, I manage to maintain my personal fitness by playing football. I am a member of a football club and this gives me the possibility to play with people of different standards and to communicate for a good coordination of game.
Even if I don't play any instrument during the music classes I study guitar in my own time with a teacher. My next goal is to sing carols with my classmates to our teachers in the Christmas Eve. I think that music is a way to develop a creatively mind, exactly like mathematics do.

Even thought I haven't obtaineddid not win any prize, I believe that my participation is a successwas useful because it helped lift my ranking higherthis year I ranked upper in tables than the precedent year . I learned that more important than the success is theperseverance is the most important factor for one's success .
