MOTIVATION LETTER - I realized my passion for marketing

Hi guys. I'm about to apply for Saxion Top Talent Student Scholarship on January 15th. Could you guys plz spend sometime read through this letter and give me some advice to improve it. Thanks a lot ^^

Dear Selection committee,

With this letter, I would like to express my strong interest in applying for the Bachelor in Marketing (Short Degree Programme) at Saxion University of Applied Sciences starting in September 2014. This programme is a precious opportunity for me to enrich my knowledge as well as a solid step towards my goal, become a successful marketer in an internationally operating company.

I realized my passion for marketing after having Basic Marketing class while pursuing my Bachelor of Finance and Banking at Hochiminh University of Industry. My experience in sales and customer relationship management which I gained from my jobs and internship, combined with my basic understanding of marketing, have convinced me that this is the career option I would like to explore. I wish for a deeper understanding of this field.

Four years of my prior education not only gave me foundation about business but also brought to me chances to improve needed skills for later. Being a leader during group assignments, class monitor, and director for music performances of my class helped me strengthen my leadership and teamwork skills. Along with my studies, I have also enhanced my communication skill through various extra-curricular and volunteer activities. I believe these are necessary skills when studying in Saxion and working in the field of Marketing.

I have chosen to apply for Saxion University of Applied Sciences because it is ranked as third of the 24 HBO University offering Marketing courses. Studying in Saxion would be my once-in-a-lifetime experience of high quality education. Furthermore, the Marketing course, which is one of the most difficult of the Short Degree courses at Saxion, would be a chance for me to challenge myself, discover my abilities, and bring out the best of me. Moreover, it is my hope to learn more about marketing and gain hand-on experiences. Finally yet importantly, Saxion also offers me great networking opportunities to broaden my knowledge and experience in an international class. I will also learn different cultures and working with people from different nationalities, and these will add to my social and academic development, which should prepare better for my future.

The Netherlands is my first choice as a foreign country for my study because it is a highly developed and safe country with good quality education standard, which is one of the best in the world. It is also a beautiful country with a welcoming and friendly culture. It will give me the opportunity to live and work in an open international society, to visit new places, to develop new interests and friendships and become more independent.

Being a student at Saxion and studying in the Netherlands is very important to my parents and me. None of my parents had chance to neither attend university nor travel abroad. They have sacrificed a lot for me to pursue my studies. I will dedicate all of my effort to fulfill my dream, to make my parents proud of me.
