Nutrition scholarship - Strength and Weakness Essay

Hi everyone, i really need your help to review and proofread my application. It is used for applying scholarship with my preference in nutrition program. The application requires me to mention my strength and weakness in 3 points; which each point is limited for 250 characters only. Hope to get lots feedback from you soon! Thanks in advance!

Strength


1. I am good at maintain professional and personal contacts. When I joined the voluntary teaching movement back in 2017, I got to know all my student's parents. Until now, we still contact each other. They said I brought a good influence on their kids.

2. I always prefer to work in groups and find that collaborating comes naturally to me. On a project that I directed, I work well to initiates ideas and work side by side with my team. I have increased the adolescent nutrition program's target by 30%.

3. Writing is my strength. I work well on the big picture and put the details into words. I have written two learning modules on global health and diplomacy, one book about grant proposal writing, and one guidebook for the adolescent nutrition program.

Weakness


1. I can be too critical of myself. I often feel I could have done better, even if objectively I have done well. It led me to burnout. Thus, I learned to pause and celebrate my achievements. It helped me to genuinely appreciate myself and my team.

2. I have been a procrastinator before. The adrenaline rush generates creative ideas in my mind. One day, I realized how putting things off to the deadline creates stress for others. I started to make my deadlines before the actual deadline.

3. I tend to avoid confrontation. It becomes a real problem because I used to work in a group. I need to tell what they need to hear and not what they want to hear. I am working on actively listen to them and voice my opinion constructively.

The first strength is too simple to represent a notable skill. That presentation is also one that is common among teachers. It is not a stand-out strength when compared to the next 2 skill presentations. Replace the first skill with a more notable strength that would help enhance the next 2 strengths. - the strengths shows that the last 2 strengths enhances and supports one another.

Being a self critical person contradicts the second weakness. A self-critic will never be a procrastinator because the main character of a procrastinator is a lack of care for what has to be accomplished. The self-critical person would never allow for procrastination to take hold of him. Replace one of the 2 to avoid confusion in the presentation.
