Hello! I am applying to the Global Markets and Local Creativities Track G Sustainability: Institutions and Management.

This are the summary points.
Supporting Personal Statement:
Please be as precise as you can when writing your Supporting Personal Statement. Do not repeat yourself and do not exceed the word limit (1200 words). You should make sure that you address the following issues in your personal statement:

You should outline your motivation for choosing the GLOCAL programme (i.e. how it complements and develops your previous studies; how it relates to your potential future career path; how it relates to your personal and academic interests).
Explain why you think you are a good candidate for the programme given your previous studies and how they relate to the courses offered on the programme in both years.
If you have obtained significant work experience since graduating, please explain how those activities relate to the courses offered in the programme and why you are re-entering academia.
Briefly indicate what you might see as being the topic of your Masters thesis (this can change later).
You should highlight your participation in conferences, internships, non-governmental organisations, summer schools, and other socially sensitive or political activity; as well as any prizes/awards received, even if these activities are not specifically connected to the area of Global Markets & Local Creativities.

In Paraguay, 97% of businesses are Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), yet many still struggle with planning and sustainability. I am driven by the vision of becoming a consultant for SMEs in Paraguay, helping them adopt sustainable practices and thrive in a competitive global market. My academic journey began with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the National University of Asunción, where I learned about social and economic development and the role of SMEs in national growth. The master's program Global Markets, Local Creativities (GLOCAL)-Track G: Sustainability: Institutions and Management is the ideal step for me to prepare for this role and make a meaningful impact on Paraguay's business environment.
One of the most transformative experiences in my career was my internship at Sandton Hotel Domaine Cocagne in the South of France. I have taken a few classes in hotel management, so I found this opportunity interesting. As part of a six-member team, I quickly adapted to new challenges and became the top performer in the second month. My efforts led to a 10% increase in positive reviews during the first month, and I developed a standard operations process for the restaurant and reception areas. My first time abroad had its ups and downs, but it was a turning point. I experienced the larger world that Paraguay is part of, and for the first time, I could compare my country and see what we could do better.
Following this, I worked at the World Bank Group, where I honed my coordination and negotiation skills. I led the first edition of Green Economy Week and supported the youth project 'Paraguay Ahora,' achieving a 70% participation rate in meetings and follow-up milestones. For my dedication, proactivity, and creativity, I won a Southern Cone Spot Award for Excellence.
While at the European Union's Delegation in Paraguay, I worked on Erasmus+ projects and supported the establishment of ASOEMAPY (Paraguayan Erasmus Student Association). As a Junior Expert for GOPA Partners, I played a key role in organizing the first edition of the European Scholarship Fair in 2022, coordinating a successful event that drew over 7,000 participants from 16 of Paraguay's 17 departments. These experiences helped me understand international collaboration and the importance of empowering youth in development.
My professional journey then led me back to the World Bank Group, where I coordinated a field trip to the remote Mbaracayú Forest Nature Reserve for a delegation of executive directors. Shortly after, I joined IDB Invest, a multilateral organization that fosters economic development through private-sector financing. I have participated in conferences and knowledge hubs such as Knowledge Week, Sustainability Week, and the Entrepreneurship Hub, which have broadened my expertise in sustainable development and entrepreneurship.
Living in Washington, D.C., the hub of international development has offered unparalleled opportunities for professional growth. From attending the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings to engaging with global leaders at the Young Leaders Forum: Productive Sustainability, I have connected with like-minded professionals and deepened my understanding of international economic forces.
My passion for supporting entrepreneurs solidified as a volunteer at the Club de Emprendedores de la UNA, the first entrepreneurship club at my university. I organized the first Entrepreneurship Forum, which gathered around 300 participants to learn from experts and share their entrepreneurial journeys. Our team consistently shared funding opportunities, enabling club members to create or enhance new MSMEs. The Honorable Chamber of Senators and the National Secretariat of Youth declared the club of national and youth interest.
The GLOCAL program offers the interdisciplinary and international perspective I need to achieve my goal. The University of Glasgow provides a course that Dr Helen Yaffe imparts, Latin American Development from Independence to the Present, and discusses with her the role of Paraguayan development within this context.
I look forward to hearing her thoughts on improving and encouraging SMEs to be more sustainable. Sustainability in the Financial Markets in the Modern Era is a course taught in the second semester at Uppsala University. I plan to discuss Latin American markets, compare them with Paraguay's macroeconomic stability, and share ideas on developing the microeconomy.
In addition to the courses mentioned, I am eager to take the course at Universidad de los Andes, Consultandes-Consultancy in Environment Management, where GLOCAL students have practical experience with MBA students working on projects such as environmental business models. Besides, being in Colombia, a Latin American country similar to Paraguay, will benefit me enormously while writing my dissertation on Paraguayan SMEs, their role in sustainable development, and economic growth.
Through my work and volunteer experience, I have learned that empowering SMEs in Paraguay to adopt sustainable practices is essential for the country's long-term economic and environmental prosperity. I am excited about the prospect of joining the GLOCAL program, which provides the interdisciplinary and global perspective I need to advance my knowledge of sustainability, management, and the global economy. By combining the experiences acquired from the program, I can support Paraguayan SMEs enabling them to thrive in a competitive global market.

Your credentials are very strong. The fact that you have work experience with Erasmus Mundus definitely adds a significant number of pros for your application. Everything about your essay shows that you are going to be a professional asset to the program. However, your experiences cannot mask the lack of future proofing of your motivation. Why do you want to become a consultant? What is the target? It has to be something out of the ordinary that will benefit from the experiences that you have mentioned. Try to come up with a stronger thesis subject. Make a simple abstract that would highlight how the programs will help you develop this paper. Finally, you need to be more specific about which of your experiences apply to which track. Why you believe that these subjects have best prepared you for each track would help the reviewer understand exactly what it is you plan to do during your time as a student.
