Hello everyone,
I am working on the essay question for Australian Awards Scholarship this year and would like to hear some feedbacks.
Cambodia aims to become an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. To achieve this, the Pentagonal Strategy, launched in 2023, prioritizes transparency, accountability, and e-government expansion to enhance efficiency, reduce corruption, and strengthen citizen engagement. As a budget control official, I must enhance my expertise in public finance and organizational management to prepare for a leadership role and contribute to this vision.
My first choice is the Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the Australian National University (ANU). The Crawford School of Public Policy, a globally renowned institution, offers an interdisciplinary and customizable curriculum, allowing me to specialize in public finance. ANU is among the few Australian universities providing a public finance pathway, including Public Finance, Managing Government Finances, and Budgeting for Outcomes. Additionally, I aim to intern at the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) in Canberra, aligning perfectly with my career aspirations.
My second choice is the Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM) at the University of Melbourne (UniMelb). With over 30 years of expertise, this program combines policy and public management, covering strategic governance, budgeting, and financial management. Its internship capstone will provide hands-on experience in a governmental organization, applying my knowledge to real-world financial and administrative challenges. I am particularly interested in working with the Department of Treasury and Finance in Melbourne to gain deeper insights into public finance management.
These programs will equip me with essential skills to enhance efficiency, strengthen financial oversight, and address challenges in Cambodia's public finance sector. With this expertise, I am confident in my ability to contribute to Cambodia's long-term transformation.
Any kind of feedback is highly appreciated and thanks in advance.
