Hey everyone, please help reviewing my answer for essay related to development relevance. Thank you.
1. What skills and knowledge do you hope to gain from your proposed study programme? (character limit 1200)
Law plays a crucial role in addressing deforestation by establishing guidelines, regulations, and penalties to deter harmful activities. I believe that expanding knowledge is essential for understanding law's role in tackling biodiversity loss, climate change, and deforestation. I chose the Master of Laws (LL.M.) to strengthen my legal expertise and analytical skills in environmental and climate-related regulation, which are central to my role as a legislative drafter at the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation, Ministry of Forestry. LL.M programs focus on developing advanced legal skills like research, writing, and analysis, which are essential for legal drafters responsible for accurate and legally valid documents. I believe that this study will help me to cultivate versatile skills like critical thinking, research proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication. Upon researching, I found that particularly University of Auckland has specialisation in environmental law which the courses are appealing and aligned with my interests and professional aspirations. The knowledge will help me in addressing environmental challenges.
