Please help me to improve my motivation letter
I am inspired to pursue this program because I believe my purpose is to create meaningful change in the social, environmental, and economic spheres. My dream is to solve real-world problems, particularly economic challenges, through innovative technology. As the 3rd Outstanding Student of the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Jember, I have had the opportunity to turn my ideas into action. One such project was an IoT system that helps users track street vendors' locations via a smartphone app. This initiative was close to my heart, as it aimed to support hardworking vendors who often struggle with uncertain and limited income. I wanted to offer them a way to expand their market reach and improve their livelihoods.
My passion for problem-solving has led me to explore innovation beyond the classroom. I earned 3rd place in the Global Business Entrepreneur Essay Competition by proposing energy sensors as an IoT application to improve energy efficiency in Indonesian textile factories. I also co-developed the EcoSmart Fence, a moss-based IoT system to filter air pollution, as part of the National Business Plan Competition. While we didn't win due to gaps in business analysis, the experience taught me invaluable lessons about bridging cutting-edge technology with solid business strategies.
Hungary's outstanding reputation for fostering innovation makes it the perfect place to continue my journey. Ranked 36th in the 2024 Global Innovation Index, Hungary stands far ahead of Indonesia, which ranks 54th. This contrast highlights the incredible opportunities Hungary offers for nurturing ideas and turning them into impactful solutions. I am particularly drawn to the Business Informatics program at Dennis Gabor University and the Business Development major at the University of Pécs. These programs not only align with my academic background and goals but also offer the global perspective and collaborative environment I need to thrive.
As an Information Systems student, I've developed strong skills in data management, system analysis, and software development. These skills allowed me to design EcoSmart Fence, an IoT-based technology that filters pollutants and monitors air quality in urban areas-a project fueled by my deep concern for Indonesia's escalating air pollution. This experience solidified my commitment to using technology to address urgent environmental challenges, and I believe the interdisciplinary approach of the Business Informatics program will help me elevate these efforts on a global scale.
While studying abroad excites me, I am fully aware of the challenges it entails: adjusting to a new culture, overcoming language barriers, and adapting to a different academic system. However, I see these challenges as opportunities for growth. I plan to immerse myself in the local culture, participate in exchange activities, and engage with diverse communities to enrich my perspective. To overcome language barriers, I am continuously improving my English and will seek support from university resources. By preparing thoroughly and remaining open to learning, I am confident I can thrive in this transformative journey.
After completing the exchange program, I plan to bring what I've learned back to Indonesia. My goal is to collaborate with local governments and businesses to implement solutions like EcoSmart Fence in urban areas grappling with severe pollution. I dream of scaling these innovations regionally and globally, contributing to cleaner, healthier cities. By bridging the gap between technology and business, I hope to create solutions that not only address immediate needs but also support sustainable urban development.
