I wish to study Bsc. Petroleum Engineering area of concentration when offered a scholarship/ Fellowship.
I have chosen to study or pursue a career in the Oil and Gas industry because my family, both past and present, have made a career in a variety of areas pertaining to engineering as a whole. I reached a point where I began to investigate career pathways where I was guided and assited by my family as I searched for a sound and respected course of study to pursue for a career, in the process came to develop strong passion for the Oil and Gas industry, with Petroleum Engineering as my ideal course of study.
Through a combination of this guidance and personal familiarities with the industry, mostly being engineering, I became aware of the vast opportunities Oil and Gas industry has to offer, including sophisticated cutting-edge technology. Not only did I want to be part of the Oil and Gas industry that is often in the forefront of new developments, but I also wanted to be part of an industry that is internationally known and well respected with global opportunities as well.
Although Oil and Gas projects are challenging in a multitude of ways, by employing world class year of engineers, geologists and consultants, the team will be able to devise new solutions to achieve production in ultra deep water, while maintaining incident free operations. Where there's team-oriented environment, as well as individual team members, that's what makes Oil and Gas work more enjoyable on a daily basis. You always get to gain adequate knowledge and experience in various aspects of deep water drilling operations.
My goal is to become a Drilling Engineer with in-depth technical know-hows after my advanced degree to help transform the ever changing engineering world in performing drilling activities with ease in a safer manner with friendly disposition.
And together with others who share similar passion for drilling and engineering as a whole, fill the gaps of the proposed shortage in skilled labor for drilling engineers in the near future as a result of retirement and future discoveries of hydro-carbons and natural gas.
I am now looking forward to a career focused on my passion for the Oil and Gas industry and engineering as a whole, presenting opportunities to work with similar minded people.
