Hello everybody, can you help me to review my answer please? Thank you so much for your help!
Briefly describe the purpose of the activity/organization. Who or what prompted you to get involved? What contributions did you make? How has your involvement impacted you and others? 250 words
Eager to begin building a research career early, I entered a materials laboratory in my first year to master fundamental academic practices, gain hands-on experience, and discover the questions that energized me. Reading and translating papers across materials fields revealed my fascination with biomaterials. In 2022, I joined the Bionanomaterials Laboratory, which develops biomimetic materials for biomedical applications.
I quickly moved from exploration to contribution. I supported senior researchers in synthesizing materials and developing 3D-printed scaffolds for bone repair; our work won Third Prize for presentation at the 40th HUST Student Scientific Research Conference. Determined to expand my capabilities, I pursued a research placement in Singapore and returned ready to assume greater responsibility.
I then mentored four students while advancing three projects. I trained a junior in synthesis techniques and coached her presentation at the 42nd HUST Conference; she later presented a poster at ICAMT 2026. I investigated titanium coating with a peer and guided two others through thesis projects on drug delivery. After completing the protocol and demonstrating the material's potential as a drug carrier through my own experiments, I began guiding them to adapt loading and release experiments to another drug, troubleshoot inconsistent results, and interpret data.
Most meaningfully, I transformed procedures into shared capability. By explaining scientific rationale and progressively transferring ownership, I enabled all four mentees to independently reproduce experiments and train new members. The experience strengthened my resolve to become a researcher who not only develops impactful biomaterials but also builds self-sustaining scientific communities.
