Topic: Describe your potential to be a leader. How do you envision yourself making a difference in the world.

(the parenthesis means looking for better word choices)

"Who wants to pray?" teacher asked during the Theology class. The room suddenly became quite. We waited about five minutes but still nobody volunteered. "Okay, I will go," I finally volunteered. Since our school is a Catholic school, we always pray beginning of the class. I volunteered last month, last week, and even yesterday. However, no one, but me, seems like willing to break the ice and step up. On the other hand, surprisingly, once I start the first prayer, the numbers of students volunteer. Only thing they need was the piece of paper to ignite the fire - a leader.

Any paper can ignite the fire. However, some paper ignite the fire which can last a couple hours during the cold winter time; some papers like straws make fire that can only last a couple minutes. Therefore, in order to last (sustain, maintain, keep) people's motivation until they reach the goal, the good leadership is essential. After holing numerous leadership positions, from the class president to the editor of the school yearbook, I could have attained some great leadership qualities. The first thing I realized is "Leadership is not equal to dictatorship." I often see leaders who completely ignore their teammates' opinions. It is true that compromising everyone's opinion is hard. Nevertheless, directing members without consideration will merely bring complain and rebel. Second, the great leader is quick at finding each member's strength. Discovering strength means acquiring another step toward to the matchless team. Third, be exemplary. People are often scared of taking responsibility or making mistake. That is why people do not stand up for something they believe, unless there is a leader. Therefore, the leader should be the person who starts the fire.

Making difference in the world is not too difficult than it appears to be. You just may start a chain reaction. Therefore, as a leader, I will be the catalyst to start the Chain Reaction, making a difference in the world.

Thank you so much guys! :)
