Hello everyone! I'm new here and I frequently have writer's block and trouble with my writing. I joined this forum because I wanted to get advice on how to write better!

To get a good job, you must have diligence and education; above that, you must have connections and willingness to wait. That is the trouble with the country right now; those who want to work in an intellectual field and not just a laboring position must have some kind of higher education. Otherwise, they are downsized and considered menial. Good luck though.

I'm confused. How is this thread still going? I doubt he has still looked over it in over a year.
But, I would recommend, on the idea of the competition, to elaborate on the overlooking of the bay. It seems like a beautiful anecdote but needs more of a laconic display to the reader.

At first thought that you were Chinese as your name has "Min" in it! Then after this thread I thought nah marching band isn't something that would be in China, Korea, Japan, Thailand participated by school students... SO this "Min" thing must be a short form of something, huh? Ain't I right?

Hello, my name is Rafael, English is not my first language, but I really like it! I can watch series, movies, listen do music and read books (books I don't get 100% depending on the book, but I can get the story pretty well). My goal here is just to exchange ideas and improve my writing, because, in the future I plan to take the IELTS exam. My dream is someday live in a country that has English as official language =)

I would like to ask a moderator if in the "Student Talk" forum I could for example create an topic or reply on a post just telling some story that happened to me someday, not an Essay level, just writing some random text or ideas (like I'm doing right now). I ask that, because before being able and prepared to write an good essay, I believe that just by writing something everyday in English will already generate progress in my writing skill.

I have another question though, for me to be able to open a new thread, I have to write at least two meaningful replies in posts from other people. Is this one going to count as one? Because I have no level of English for helping people writing essays for example. I'm just a beginner.

If authorized I have the intention of coming back here often to write something (hoping that some good soul advise me if I'm making some creep mistake). Thank you guys I hope I make a lot of friends here =-)

Hi All, I'm studying for a college test that includes two essays. One 30 opinion based essay on either a topic or a quote, and the other a 40 minute essay with provided sources to quote from and back up my arguments. The essays are each supposed to be 5 paragraphs, around 600 words, with an Intro, 3 points, and a conclusion. I'm struggling with the length. Do any of you have suggestions on how I can lengthen my essays without being redundant?

As I write here , I am new here in canada. And still I am struggling for admission for masters in mechanical. I have already evaluated my degree and diploma certificates from WES ( WORLD EDUCATION SERVICES). I have also 9 years exp in the industry. Every time I tried for job but got only " LABOUR JOB ".

You can also give International tester exam (ISTQB) that will help you to get into the industry though i am not sure what do u have to do for raising working visa in Canda.

Another option join any short term certificate course that will provide you 12 OR 6 MONTH work permission in America or Canada to get into the industry.

You got to make little adjustment with your demands, but once you enter ..you would have long way to go.

I am happy I found this forum. I am a 44 years old, married male in his first quarter of college. I am looking forward to all the advice and help I can get as I haven't participated in formal education since 1987. I have rudimentary grammar skills and realize 50 minutes a day in English 99 isn't going to cut it for me. My Professor does a decent job but moves a bit faster than I would like at time. My college does have a free tutor center as well as a Writers studio but I find at times the wait is a bit long. So don't be too surprised if I post a Essay or Report now and then. As I improve I hope to help give advice now and then to others.
