I am required to write an essay around 300 words and I can figure out how to start and what to write. Here is the topic.

A write up to 300 words(approximately) from the applicant stating the reasons(s) for asking admission in
Jadavpur University, India and the purpose of study.

I expect you know why you want to be admitted. So just think about it. Then write it down. Nobody here can be familiar with your own reasons. You may find some samples as well, however the idea still remains on your consideration. Hope it helps.
