The limit is 500 characters so the responses may seem small....Btw I'm applying to Stern.

Please tell us what led you to select both your anticipated academic area(s) of study and the NYU school / college / program or the Abu Dhabi campus. What interests you most about your intended discipline? Mention any extracurricular or non-school-related activities or experiences that demonstrate your interest.

- Being born in Dubai, growing up there for twelve years and then coming back to India, the contrast between the two places struck me as odd at two levels. I encountered a far higher level of competition in almost all fields in India as compared to Dubai but India lagged far behind Dubai in almost all aspects of infrastructure, convenience and prosperity.

I thus realized the importance of issues like forms of government and public policy and their impact on businesses in different countries. My internship at a wealth management firm further demonstrated how business decisions are based on countries' policies. This connection between topics I had considered independent of each fascinated me and enhanced my resolve to take up the Business and Political Economy course at the Stern School of Business.

( I think the character count is 650...can someone help me shorten it because I cant figure out any way to do so)

If you had the opportunity to bring any person -- past or present, fictional or nonfictional -- to a place that is special to you (your hometown or country, a favorite location, etc), who would you bring and why? Tell us what you would share with that person.

- Lee Kuan Yew, the founder of modern day Singapore, is someone whom I would like to bring to India - my native country. LKY is easily one of the best political thinkers and strategists of the century. After all, he single handedly managed to transform Singapore from a third world, underdeveloped country to a first world, Asian Tiger. I would like to discuss the problems in the Indian economy with him and what changes should be made to the system in order for India to emulate the kind of success Singapore has had. The situation India finds itself in is quiet analogous to Singapore's past and if there's one person who can transform India, it is undoubtedly Lee Kuan Yew the 'nation builder'.

(Character count is 570...this needs to be shortened as well)

I really need your help in shortening the responses to 500 characters...any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
