My Name is x, born in x, x. As a second child, out of 5 siblings. I came from parents who never went to college, and before they even completed highschool, they had already started working in order to support their family financials being. They experience financial difficulties and learned the importance of hard work from such a young age, which they later instilled in their children. Especially my mother,Although she can be strict at times, she is also an incredibly outgoing and extraordinary woman. Her warmth, confidence, and sense of humor have greatly influenced me. She is the type of mother who would never spend money on trendy toys just because they were popular among children. Instead, she preferred to buy things that were practical and useful. I still remember how, for my sixth birthday, I desperately wanted a dress-up Fairy doll. Instead of getting me the doll I had asked for, she bought me a cleaning set complete with toy brooms and mops, at that time I was disappointed and devastated, But looking back I realized that this was one of the many ways on how she taught me to value practicality over unnecessary wants. Since childhood, I have been taught to appreciate everything I have been given, to never take anything for granted, to never waste what i have, and to become independent. These values shaped me into who I am today.
Throughout my school years, I was not always the most ambitious student. However, I know what I like and what I dont like, if I really liked something id keep my heart close too it ,pursue it and I would chase it. In my first year of primary school, I attended my first-ever dance lesson, and it was there that I discovered something I truly loved. I fell in love with the feeling of being on stage, the excitement of performing, the energy of the audience, and the opportunity to express myself through movement. I still vividly remember watching the older students perform at a Christmas event at school. I was completely mesmerized by their presence on stage. At that moment, I not only wanted to dance like them, but also hoped that one day, I could become a great inspiration to others in the same way they had inspired me. Sadly, my opportunities to perform were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the circumstances did not stop me from pursuing something I genuinely loved. Throughout the pandemic, I continued dancing at home, often learning trending dances on TikTok simply because it brought me joy and allowed me to stay connected to something that mattered to me. When the pandemic ended, so did the limitations that had kept me from performing, and my desire to be on stage returned stronger than ever. In 2024, I joined a dance community, and I have remained a part of it ever since. Joining this community opened new doors for me. Beyond giving me more opportunities to perform, it introduced me to new dance styles, allowing me to participate in competitions, and taught me skills that I could not have gained from dancing alone. It also brought people into my life who eventually became some of my closest friends, I know that without them I would not have achieved the success I have had in dance competitions. There is something incredibly special about working towards the same goal with people who share the same passion. I value the chemistry we have as a team, the countless hours of rehearsals, the trust we build with one another, and the way we learn to move as one. Being surrounded by people who love dancing as much as I do has made every achievement feel even more meaningful, with them I feel seen and needed for. Outside of dancing, I have developed strong organisational skills. I love trying out new things and going out of the box which lead me to Leo Clubs, The first time I joined was Leo was in the 1st year of highschool, in Leo ive meet so many new connections, friends outside of school and I have also learned to solve problems, compromise, and make sacrifices when necessary to turn an idea into reality. But most importantly, I get to serve alot of people in need. One experience that has stayed with me was visiting an orphanage. Seeing children who lacked basic necessities was deeply upsetting and made me realise how easily I had taken my own circumstances for granted. Although I felt grateful for the support I had received in my life, I also understood that empathy required more than feeling sorry for the children. I spent time talking and playing with them, asking which games they enjoyed and how they wanted to play. I left the orphanage thinking about how different the children's futures might be if they had greater access to stability and opportunity. That realisation strengthened my determination to remain involved in service and to contribute consistently to a community in which every child has the chance to thrive.
Why Taiwan , NTNU , and the major I picked bussiness administration? Taiwan immediately appealed to me because of its balance between vibrant city life and beautiful natural surroundings. I have always loved travelling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures, and I admire Taiwan for the diversity of experiences it offers. From its mountains and greenery to its cities, cuisine, and rich cultural heritage, Taiwan feels like a place where I could continuously discover something new. I can also imagine that when university life becomes exhausting, having the opportunity to explore and travel independently would help me recharge, reflect, and maintain a healthy balance between my academic responsibilities and personal life. More than simply being a place I would enjoy visiting, Taiwan is a country where I can see myself growing, becoming more independent, and I know Taiwan would feel exactly like home.
The first time NTNU was introced to me was in Taiwan Higher Education Fair Indonesia 2026, and I was impressed by its strong academic environment, emphasis on developing professional skills, and welcoming atmosphere. I was also attracted to how well-organised the university is and the opportunities it provides for students to develop themselves beyond academics. Another important reason I am interested in NTNU is its strong Chinese-language environment. I want to continue improving my Chinese, and I believe studying at NTNU would give me the opportunity to develop my language skills through both formal education and everyday experiences. Being surrounded by the language and culture would allow me to become more confident in communicating while gaining a deeper understanding of Taiwan
I chose Business Administration to understand the inner workings of a business, from how a company is built and operated to how strategic decisions drive long-term growth. My ultimate goal is to take what I learn and build a business of my own one day. Studying in an English-taught program was another huge draw for me. Beyond making learning comfortable, it gives me the chance to connect and collaborate with people from all kinds of backgrounds, broadening my perspective and preparing me for a global business environment.
