When asked about changing careers normally I feel as though I am not changing. Considering my current work as a medical researcher it is evident that my career is slightly shifting paths and the focus is changing from research to a more clinical setting of medicine. Working at XXXX has given me a unique perspective of the medical field--our lab generates the ideas that eventually impact the treatment of patients. There are a number of fulfilling aspects to research. One is having your hardwork recognized in science publications.

My degree in biology and course such as Anatomy and phsiology help to understand the anatomy of the mouse. Genetics is necessary to perform lab techniques such as Polymerase Chain Reactions and Chemistry to calucate dilutions similiar to the pharmalogical applications in nursing. I've always felt compelled to work in a profession where I can make a difference in many people's live. Whether I am in a lab generating data to cure disease or saving live in a busy ER; I will be helping people in the same capacity but different formats.

After several years as a researcher and the manager of one of the largest animal facilities at XXXX, I am at a pinnacle point in my life where my deffered dream of being a nurse can materialize. I was raised in an environment in which healthcare was a part of everyday life.

This is a great essay, but you should add one or two powerful sentences to the end as a conclusion.

Good luck!

I'd say this still needs some revision, mostly to smooth out the flow of ideas.

"I feel as though I am not changing. . . . it is evident that my career is slightly shifting paths and the focus is changing." This makes no sense. You can say you don't feel as if the change is major, or that you feel as if the change is merely a natural part of your career path, but what you have written at the moment is contradictory.

Your second paragraph is composed of many interesting sentences, but none of them really relate to each other. Perhaps you could find some way of connecting your ideas in a logically coherent way, to make it easier for the reader to follow your train of thought.

Good luck crafting your next draft.
