The eagerness to know and try many different things - personal statement

From cereals and books, up to physics

'' Why on Earth would you do that?!", " How would you know it is disgusting if you hadn't even tried it ?!" I rhetorically answered. I have tried every possible cereal combination, with water, juice; coffee, and even soda! This eagerness to know, to find out grew with time, that is why I was first drawn to Physics! The absoluteness, the mystery, and the half-solved puzzles...

With all that knowledge waiting for me to reveal, my curiosity made me grow appreciative of how complex and intertwined the world can be. The more I know, understand, and feel, the more breathtaking knowing becomes. I grew grateful for the way all the little things in my life shaped my own unique way of recognizing the world.

" It is not a linear function!" said Edward Lorenz, describing the butterfly wing effect, that anything that happens within a system matters!! This conjoint philosophy between Physics and fate is my ultimate belief! I have had countless chances to learn and to change. No matter how small, these chances, challenges, and events affected who I am. I am a product of my system.

On that shelf dust never touches laid the adventures of Tom Sawyer, along with Dickens' collection, up to Lady midnight. Thrived on wondering, as I was, I found new realities. These books, stained by my sweaty hands, and smelling of cinnamon buns, are a facet of who I am.

Another facet is the where and when I was raised. It was a modest village in the middle of Delta, green, vivid, and everybody knew everybody. There, I was provided that unique fertile soil to grow. As for the when, I got to witness the January revolution! Dad took me to protests that were an astonishing process of revelation... I was lucky to take it all in, experiencing the limitlessness of humans, watching how peaceful protests literally changed the world as we knew it!!

Wanting to satisfy my curiosity and to widen my horizon, I applied to a boarding school. For the first time in my life, I was away from home. My first semester wasn't so good, a catastrophic event to be sincere. I remember sitting in my first ever physics session, and realizing, " I have no idea what they are talking about!" But are you ready for the biggest plot twist revelation? ... I was the happiest I have ever been my entire life, FAILING.

Instead of collapsing into this failing singularity, I remember...smiling! I know it may seem a bit paradoxical but consider the possibility that we build this false dichotomy about stress and happiness. I would argue that for most of my life, the biggest hindrance to this kind of happiness was a lack of stress!! And there I was, arguably too aware that I knew nothing, but for the first time, I felt like I am working towards something. I was astonished by how sophisticated this relation is, highlighting again the complexity of the world around me!

Knowing how to be a part of something bigger than myself, and learning to blend working on projects, that was a whole new system with a whole new set of factors. I was given the chance not to be the top of my class, to make mistakes, and to wonder, I started a whole new phase in my mental maturity.

Starting from cereal and books, up to my fascination with physics, I have been curious to try out. They say curiosity killed the cat, but I would always choose to know! Good or bad, my urge to know shaped who I am; relating the simplicity of every single incident, and the complexity of the overall effect on my life. I like to think that I am always one step away from a life changing event.
