Myself
Engineering is my passion. I am Parkavin and I was born in Kandy. I turned eighteen a few months from today. My home town is Hatton which is in Kandy but I currently live in Bambalapitiya, Colombo. As everyone under go through drastic changes and development from their time of birth, it was no exception for myself. I will be elaborating on my previous experiences and the exciting journey which I followed to reach the present.

My father Mr. Kanagaraj, is a business man and my mother Mrs. Jayanthy is a house wife. She is greatest mother who direct me in every success of my life. I have one elder brother who is Pharmacist. He guided me with many good habits which are essential for life. It is my fortune to have a great family and me always thankful to god for this utmost blessing.

I am Hindu. One of my favorite religious quotes is "Shivayanama" which is dedicated to Lord Shiva which means the love upon others shows us the god. I like nature and I spend most of my time watching wildlife programs such as national geographic and discovery. I always want to make others happy and through that I male myself happy. Therefore I do mimicry, standup comedy to my listeners in which I enjoy myself too. I like to watch comedy series, Hollywood and horror movies. My hobby is mostly reading books. One of my favorite book series is "The Harry Potter". Talking about food, I have a great temptation for chocolate. Moreover I would prefer to eat organic foods. My favorite vegetable dish is the spinach salad.

My school life was very exciting and also an important time period of my life. My primary and high school was Highlands College in Kandy, Srilanka. During my primary education I was lucky to have loyal and honest friends. For that I cannot forget them forever. I did my school education, very peacefully and I successfully passed my "O/L's with bright colors. I was doing mathematical stream well and I was awarded certificates to my performance, its great memories in school life. During my school life, I engaged in extracurricular activities such as essay writing and cursive writing.

Cricket is my favorite sport. I represented the under 17 cricket of my school. I also took part in the annual sport meets representing athletic events such as Sprint races and marathons.

Though I had both fruitful and bitter experiences in my life I learned a lot how live the life in future. My past is the guide for my future.

I am desperate to prove myself to the world. I am desperate to show off my capabilities to the whole planet hence I chose the field of Engineering. I wanted to provide the world something new and innovative. As Steve Jobbs says 'the innovation distinguishes the leaders and followers'. It should be beneficial and unite humanity together making world peace too. To achieve this, there was no better option than the field of engineering since it has survived from our ancestors and the long history of our planet. In the present day I am doing my Bachelor of Engineering in University of Wolverhampton. I will be able to achieve my ultimate passion of my life.

A few grammar mistakes I found;



This sounds like just a list of records. There are more interesting ways that you can talk about yourself.
Why not post your prompt? So that we can have an idea what your real need is and also align your essay with that :)

She is a a great mother and has directed me to success throughout my life.


I think taught would be a better word here instead of guide.


It is my fortune to have such a great family and I am thankful to god for this blessing.

The topic is Engineering is my passion right? But then all your about family would be irrelevant. Focus on the topic a bit more.
