Why Do I want to be an RN

A registered nurse helps people and families achieve health and prevent disease and that is exactly what I want to be. There are many ways to help a life but being able to help aid someone's health or being able to comfort someone who is lying on a hospital bed and being there for them and be able to bring hope to their lives is something amazing. I know there is more to nursing that meets the eye and I am ready to find out and be a part of it.

I have always been a very caring person. I always put myself before other in order to help them to the best of my ability. I find great satisfaction when I am able to help someone in need in any way shape or form. If I am able to help someone I will to the best of my ability and go the extra mile to make it possible even if it is just to put a crack of a smile on their face.

I did not grow up wanting to be a nurse but did grow up wanting to help people as much as I could. I want to find a career that will allow me to help the community. Previously I visited two countries, Dominican Republic and Panama and I was able to see children, teens and adults of all ages in need of better health and it broke my heart to see them in the condition they were in and above that in poverty and knowing that there is not much that I could do. At first I wanted to become an airline pilot because I wanted to provide help for missionaries and organizations to reach these places but then thought what better than a nurse. Instead of being away from the source of help I wanted to become the source of help. Even though I might not be able to reach these people in the near future I would love to reach the people who are within my community.

I am a Christian and I believe in the divine power of healing but I also believe in doctors and nurses and that they work their very best to keep the public as healthy as possible and I want to be a part of that. I want to be in an environment that is dedicated to help the lives of hundreds a day; I would much rather do that than be in an office all day selling who knows what. I want to make a change in the lives of others, I want to bring hope to the one that has none and yes there is many other ways to do that but through the medical field is where you keep those lives alive.

In the end, I am very excited to have the opportunity to become and registered nurse. I know that it will be a great challenge but I am definitely excited, dedicated and motivated to accomplish this goal and join the world of many respected doctors and nurses out there. I want to be able to bring comfort to a child who has lost hope, I want to bring good news to a wife who thought her husband would pass away, I want to hold the hand of an elderly and tell them that they will be okay; I want to be a registered nurse.
