Idea for a perspective essay about diversity and different perspectives

I'm trying to write the college essay about diversity and different perspectives. So I thought it would be really cool to write about how I see things when I am upside down. You see, when I get frustrated or confused or anything really, I like to stand on my head and look around. It really helps me to calm down and think. In addition to looking at things upside down, I'm also kind of obsessed with anagrams. I guess I'm kind of an Ada from Poisonwood Bible...but after describing the visual aspects of my upside down and backwards world where books and ideas both defy gravity, elvis lives, and sheet music turns from french impressionist to dissonant modern pieces, i'm at a loss for deeper stuff about how this difference in perception has changed my outlook on life or whatever. I have to have this essay before the 30th, and I'm kind of so stressed that writing about my stress reliever is stressing me out. Does anyone have ideas that could help??

I would really appreciate it!!

First you have to know what topic you're going to write. Then you have "about diversity and different perspectives", stick with it. "Diversity" is too broad, make it narrow. Lately, you come up with "upside down", write about it. when was this incident happend? you failed your test? broke up with b/f,g/f? disappointed about something? conflicted with parents? agrued and got upset with someone, write about it. How you solve your problem?, what did you learn after all?

" when I get frustrated or confused or anything really"<=>when did this happen?about what?
" I like to stand on my head and look around"=>this is how you handle the problem, so tell about its story

Hope my ideas would help

Prompt: In American sports, there have recently developed two philosophies. One philosophy is win at any cost. The other philosophy is fair play or sportsmanship. Chose the philosophy you feel is prevalent in America today and give reasons why you feel that philosophy is prevalent

Great idea, Rena. Standing on your head is a great way to gain a new perspective. Do not make it the main focus of the essay, though. Make it one of the topic paragraphs, and you can also make it your theme. But end the first para with a sentence that tells a main idea that is about perspective, not standing on your head.

It is a great theme!!

Chose the philosophy you feel is prevalent in America

This essay is not about sports, KathyLala. It is about what seems prevalent in America. So what do Americans value -- sportsmanship or winning?

Use examples, such as performance enhancing drugs, games won with poor sportsmanship, and so forth. This is about psychology, not sports.
Anyway, next time you have a question please start a new thread. You can link people to it if you want to, but start a new thread.
